Our 4 Favorite Songs From Disney's 'Encanto'!

We don’t talk about Bruno, but we do talk about Encanto -- a lot! Encanto is Disney’s newest animated feature, and while it might be a children's movie, people of all ages are very fond of the film, including us! Encanto follows the Madrigal family, who live in the mountains of Colombia, where each family member is blessed with a magical gift... except for Mirabel (voiced by the amazing Stephanie Beatriz).

One reason the film has won such praise from people of all ages is the fact that the soundtrack is actual fire! The Encanto soundtrack is currently ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 and was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Germaine Franco. Here are our favorite songs from the film!

1. “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”

This is the best song on the soundtrack without a doubt! It has already reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and has officially surpassed the success of “Let It Go” from Frozen! The reason this song is such a bop is because of the sharp turns the song takes -- one second it’s sung one way, then the next second you have a different character coming in and putting their individual spin on it.

2. “Surface Pressure”

“Surface Pressure” is a solo by Luisa (Jessica Darrow), Maribel’s older sister who has the gift of strength. In this song, Luisa sings about her struggles of always having to be strong for her family and how it's affecting her. This song makes us want to dance and cry at the same time. We aren’t the only ones who love this song -- High School Musical alum KayCee Stroh shared her love for this song on TikTok.

3. “What Else Can I Do?”

And another one on the Hot 100! “What Else Can I Do?” is currently 31 on Billboard’s Hot 100 as of this writing. This song is sung by Isabela (Diane Guerrero), Maribel’s perfect older sister whose gift is creating beautiful flowers. We love this song because it brings Isabela and Maribel closer as sisters.

4. “The Family Madrigal”

This song kicks off the whole movie, and for that it holds a special place in our hearts! Maribel introduces us to her whole family through this song, powers and all! It was definitely a great way to kick off the movie -- Thanks Lin!

Encanto’s soundtrack is the best soundtrack from Disney in a really long time! I have played these songs on repeat since watching. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t fret; it's not too late to hop on the trend. Encanto is now streaming on Disney+!
