Young Hollywood

Welcome to Young Hollywood. com. Michelle Marie here with Young Hollywood and we are celebrating 50 years of the Grammys. And I have the pleasure to be standing next to Mr. Neo, who is nominated for five Grammy Awards. You have to tell me what's going through your mind right now.

Ne-Yo

More important what's going through my stomach, butterflies, butterflies, butterflies. I'm trying to keep it mellow, you know what I'm saying? I'm trying to mellow out and not not hold on to the fact that it's five Grammy nominations and Lord, please let me walk away with at least one. I'm trying to be in the mindset where if I win, cool. If I don't, cool. Cuz if I'm not, Probably gonna crash. And that wouldn't be good on TV. That's that's not sexy.

Young Hollywood

Is there one particular award, if you had to pick one out of all the five that you would like to win?

Ne-Yo

Song of the year. Song of the year. Song of the year. That's the big one. Yeah, Song of the Year with Beyonce's Irreplaceable. If I could get that one, I probably wouldn't be as upset if I didn't get the other one.

Young Hollywood

Now what's the secret to making a hit song?

Ne-Yo

You cannot go into the studio and go, okay, today I'm going to write a hit song. You can't do that. Because if you if you go in with that mind state, everything you write, nothing you write is going to be good enough in your own mind. You have to just really go in and just write. Just make music and if it's a hit, it's a hit. See, for every one hit that you've heard from me, there's about five stinkers that you didn't get to hear.

Young Hollywood

We want to hear them.

Ne-Yo

Oh no, no, you don't. No, you do not.
