The holiday season is all about spending time with your loved ones and getting in touch with your inner child. Growing up, Christmas was always the best time of year. A perfect December night consisted of baking cookies, helping with gift-wrapping, and then sitting down to the newest holiday movie premiering on the Disney Channel. What better way to get back into the Christmas spirit by revisiting your childhood favorites? So gather your loved ones, cozy up with a warm drink, and take a trip down Memory Lane with these unforgettable Disney Channel classics. If you’re a Disney kid at heart, you’ll surely remember these iconic films! 

 

1. The Ultimate Christmas Present (2000) 

This film follows two best friends, Sam (Brenda Song) and Allie, who are anticipating their upcoming Christmas break. The only problem: they’ve got an English paper due on the last day before break that they are dreading writing! Luckily for them, they take a shortcut through the woods on their way home from school and stumble upon a solution. They discover a hidden cozy cabin filled with toys and odd inventions, and when curiosity gets the better of them, they decide to take one of the inventions home. It turns out that the person they stole from was Santa Claus himself, and they stole his latest experimental invention: a weather machine! To get out of doing their paper, the girls decide to use the machine to make it snow in their hometown of Los Angeles. But when the snowfall gets out of control, Santa must step in and save the day. 

 

 

 

2. Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! (2011) 

This film follows the Duncan family as they prepare to visit relatives in Palm Springs for Christmas break. As they board the plane to California, it is announced that the flight has been overbooked and a volunteer is needed to take the next one. Teddy (Bridgit Mendler), in an attempt to prove her maturity and ability to travel alone, volunteers to be the one to disembark. Amy Duncan will not allow her teenage daughter to travel alone, so at the last minute, she gets off the plane as well. With the rest of the family headed off to Palm Springs, Amy and Teddy are left with refiguring their travel plans. Upon hearing that the next flight does not depart until after Christmas, they are sent into a panic. Now faced with the possibility of missing Christmas with their family, the mother and daughter duo must quickly find an alternative way of travel. But knowing the Duncan family, their luck will get them into some crazy situations along the way. 

 

 

 

3. Cloud 9 (2014)

This film takes place in a snowy mountain village that is gearing up to host a national snowboarding competition. Snowboarder Kayla (Dove Cameron) thinks she and her team have the competition in the bag. That is until her teammate – and boyfriend – encourages her to steal the local dog walker's sled as a prank and everything goes wrong. Accidentally crashing into the town sign and destroying the dog sled, Kayla is abandoned by her teammates to take the blame. Her consequences? She is kicked off the team and her boyfriend breaks up with her. Not only that, but her dad forces her to work at the local dog hotel with Will, the dog walker, to pay for his sled that she broke. Kayla soon realizes that her diva attitude towards her coworker isn’t getting her anywhere. But after learning that Will used to be a pro snowboarder, she finds herself warming up to him. Now finding common ground, Kayla finds bonding with Will easy. When Kayla gets the idea to re-enter the competition with a different team, she must convince Will to return to snowboarding to help her gain the title.
