Hey guys, what's going on? We're here at PS Arts Express Yourself fundraiser talking to some of your favorite stars as they make their way down the red carpet and some even with their kids.

Lisa Kudrow

I come out every year to support this cause. I love it and it's really fun and my kids always have a great time.

Young Hollywood

When do you feel most creative?

Lisa Kudrow

I think when I can be, you know, very calm and clear, that's when good stuff comes in.

Joel McHale

You know, after that first cup of coffee and bran muffin and you know what happens.

Lisa Kudrow

of Jesus.

Joel McHale

Yeah, literally. Uh, I don't know, when I'm not drinking. I'm really, well, motivated by, uh, not making money. So, I try to make sure that I'm constantly trying to do more comedy and more, uh, you know, more acting so I can, uh, provide for my family.

Julie Bowen

Dancing. I'm at home dancing. Long before ever acting, I'm a dancer.

Young Hollywood

I was listening to you talk about what brings you out today. And you were saying that, you know, the arts, it should just be something that we all come out to celebrate. But why do you think that it kind of gets overlooked sometimes?

Julie Bowen

Well, I think that governmentally, I mean, in terms of public school, it's the funding. So that comes from state. Somewhere they thought it was a really good idea to just cut that funding and it's just I think it's a really bad management of funds in terms of what they consider important on the budget. Arts are so vital to self-expression and confidence and gaining knowledge about things, you know, when you use the arts to educate about science and use it for understanding math, it just helps the kids learn so much faster and so much more thoroughly and not just learn for a test. The whole purpose of going to school is to learn to have knowledge that you can apply to life.

Young Hollywood

Getting to this event right here, this is not your first time here.

Joel McHale

No, it's like my ninth time here.

Young Hollywood

What what brings you here every year?

Joel McHale

I get paid 10 grand an hour to be here.

Young Hollywood

That's a good reason.

Joel McHale

Yep. No. Uh, public school arts paying me. No. I love being here because, uh, well, it's free food. And I have a bag usually and I fill it up and I take it home and I eat it for a week. Um, also it supports, uh, the public school arts programs. And what better way to do that at a airport that it's raining in? Um, and I think supporting public school arts is incredibly important. I grew up in the public school system and play. That's what you do. And that's how creative things happen. And from such a strong age, it's so necessary. And, you know, PS Arts, 17 years running. It's really important. We got to keep it up because that's one of the first things that they'll cut. These programs. And they're amazing. And I think it opens up kids' brains, art does. I think it changes the shape of their brains. I think it it, uh, it we're the only creatures on earth that can appreciate art and I think it is incredibly important. I'm not saying that math and science get all the money and all the attention and they think it's the most important thing while you are constantly surrounded by art. And it's very important for kids to appreciate it.
