Considered one of the best filmmakers of all time, Francis Ford Coppola is well-known for his films The Godfather Parts I and II, Apocalypse Now, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and more. This incredible visionary now has a new feature coming that is set to release in 2024 called Megalopolis, a science-fiction film starring Adam Driver, Shia LeBeouf, Aubrey Plaza, and many more familiar faces. The film is highly-anticipated among many moviegoers as it has a huge estimated budget of $100 million and even bigger drama surrounding it.

Francis Ford Coppola has been working on the film idea for around three decades, which could mean this iconic director will give audiences a new incredible masterpiece. The film seems to be having production issues, which, for many, means the film is a very complex production. The film has a large budget and is said to be very ambitious.

The film centers around a modern science-fiction version of New York City based on real-life Roman Empire history, and is about an architect who wants to rebuild the city. This passion project by Coppola wrapped production and not many details about the film have been released. As this film is the first from Coppola in over 10 years, the film is highly-anticipated by both film studios and fans. Megalopolis was both written and financed, in large part, by the director himself. The last film with a budget around this size with this much buzz was Babylon, which was a box office bomb. Will Megalopolis have the same fate?!

As more news about the film comes out, it seems like the movie is very large-scale and could be a masterpiece! With the strikes going on with SAG-AFTRA, the release of the film, which has already finished production, could potentially be delayed. Either way, this film will definitely be one the biggest of 2024! Well, while we all wait for the film to come out, we can all sip on some Coppola wine...
