2025 has been an exciting year in sports and entertainment so far and it’s only going to get better! How do we know that? If you’ll look at these five promising stars, you can't help but get excited for what's ahead!

1. Gout Gout: The Next Usain Bolt

We know Usain Bolt, but will our children know Gout Gout? Born in Queensland, the 17-year-old has already broken records and been labeled The Next Usain Bolt by Olympian Jane Flemming. Gout got into Sprinting by accident when he joined his school carnival's 100-meter sprint. When his future coach Di Sheppard saw what potential Gout had, she knew that one day he could win Olympic gold. This was made even clearer at the 2024 World Junior Championships in Peru where Gout broke the Australian and Oceanian record for the fastest 200-meter sprint with a hot 20.04 seconds! Not only is he a record holder, but he is also faster than Usain Bolt at his age! Bolt has acknowledged Gout Gout’s talent himself and commented under a tweet of the 17-year-old, “He looks like young me”. 2. Naomi Ackie: A Hollywood Star

Naomi Ackie is finally getting the attention and praise she deserves, and we love it! The British Actress has been in the industry for a while, notably making her breakthrough in the award-winning Lady Macbeth (2016). She then got her first starring role in the bio-pic Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (2022) in which Ackie proved her acting chops. Her recent performance in Zoë Kravitz’s Blink Twice (2024) was highly praised, earned several nominations, and secured Ackie’s spot in Hollywood. The real show-stopper, however, is her work in the newly-released Mickey 17 by the Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho. Her talent to captivate an audience and add emotional weight to such a grand movie proves that Naomi Ackie is a Hollywood Star in the making!

3. JuJu Watkins: The Bucket Queen

When you are named the MVP of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-17 World Cup, you are THE next basketball sensation. All that is true for JuJu Watkins, a college basketball player from the United States currently playing for none other than USC. At 19 years old, Watkins already has a list of awards that others only dream of achieving, whether it is the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award or being named one of the Big Ten Players of the Year 2025 – you name it, and chances are that JuJu’s won it. Watkins is a killer on the court, and despite being in college, she has already signed with the Klutch Sports Group, which represents LeBron James. But that’s far from all. This February, Nike featured Watkins in their Super Bowl commercial next to the legend LeBron himself. Yes, it is a safe bet to say that JuJu Watkins will take the world by storm.

4. David Jonsson: A Star Rising High

Originally a theater actor, David Jansson is now making the jump to movies … and successfully at that. Jonsson showed how much he deserves to be part of Hollywood with his latest performance in Alien: Romulus (2024), which made over $350 million at the box office! But it’s not just his commercial success that is impressive but also his pure talent as an actor. For his performance, David Jonsson deservedly won the 2025 BAFTA Rising Star Award – something not to be messed with. Former winners include Kristen Stewart, Tom Holland, and Letitia Wright – all big-name Hollywood Stars now. 5. Marisa Abela: Coming In Hot

If you are nominated in the same category as the Oscar-winning Mikey Madison, you know that you’ve got a bright future ahead of you. Like Jonsson, Marisa Abela was selected for the BAFTA Rising Star Award – and for good reason. Not only has Abela starred in the Barbie (2023) sensation that took the world by storm, but she also made a name for herself by portraying Amy Winehouse in her biopic Back to Black (2024). And Marisa continues to rise. In the newly released Black Bag (2025), she stars alongside A-list icons like Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender. With such an impressive filmography, Marisa Abela is definitely someone to keep an eye out for in 2025!
