The celebrated session musician and talent finder is a longtime friend of Mariah Carey, and he has produced several of her singles and albums.
Randy Jackson has also played bass in the singer's touring band and even appeared in her Bringin' On The Heartbreak video.
And now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he is about to represent his friend in showbusiness.
The publication reports he recently accompanied Carey to the video shoot for her festive duet All I Want For Christmas is You with Justin Bieber and has been taking meetings at the Hero singer's record label offices.
