8 Things You May Not Know About Travis Kelce!

If you hadn’t heard of NFL tight end Travis Kelce before, you probably have recently from your TV screens and social media feeds due to his maybe-probably-most-likely-definitely "situationship" with one Ms. Taylor Swift! Get to know a little more about pop culture's newest It Boy below!

1. Founded The Non-Profit Organization 87 & Running

In 2015, Travis took his passion for helping disadvantaged youth achieve success and founded 87 & Running. Impacting thousands of young lives and counting, Travis’s love for his community runs deep! In a podcast interview on "Let’s Be Honest with Kirstin Cavallari" in September, Travis detailed his philanthropy engagements as being one of the things he’s most proud of: “With my foundation 87 & Running, we provide a safe haven for high school kids to go to. Kids can go to the STEM Ignition Lab after school to get them off the streets and give them something they wouldn’t have otherwise. I’m most proud of making a difference in the community and making a difference in kid’s lives. That’s definitely the coolest part of my job for sure.”

2. Starred In His Own Reality Dating Show

"Catching Kelce" ran for a single season on E! in 2016. With similarities to "The Bachelor" franchise, the show featured 50 women from each state who competed to win the pro football star’s heart and become his perfect teammate. Travis went on group dates, and, at the end of each week, one woman was eliminated. The winner, Maya Benberry, dated Travis for about a year before they split in early-2017. The entire season is currently available to watch on Apple TV+!

3. His Birthday Is October 5

An October baby? We love! Travis is turning 34 this month (the same age as his rumored new lady love -- yes, they were both born in 1989!), and for his special day last year, he was surprised by actor Paul Rudd on his podcast "New Heights". What will be in store this year for the NFL star? We will have to wait and see!

4. He Holds Quite a Few NFL Records

As a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, he currently holds the record for the most receptions by any NFL tight end in their first 10 seasons with 814 catches. Travis is the NFL’s fastest tight end to reach 10,000 receiving yards. He is also ranked at the top for most yards after catch by any tight end in NFL history at 4,896 yards. 5. You’ve Been Pronouncing His Last Name Wrong

Yeah, we’re all guilty, but he doesn’t care! In an episode of the "New Heights" podcast, which Travis co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, the two had a special guest – their dad – to break it all down. “I got tired of correcting people,” Ed Kelce said, adding that his sons thought it was pronounced “Kel-see” because their mother thought it was said that way. “That was the name that I went by at work.”

“I’m going to go by 'Kel-see'; don’t call me 'Kels',” Jason said, with Travis joking, “I’ll go by both.”

6. Both Travis and His Brother Played Under NFL Head Coach Andy Reid

Andy Reid is currently the Kansas City Chiefs head coach and has been a part of the Chiefs Kingdom since 2013. That same year, Travis was drafted by the Chiefs in the third round of the NFL Draft. Prior to touching down in Kansas City, Andy Reid coached in Philadelphia for the Eagles from 1999-2012. One of his center position players? Jason Kelce!

7. He Knows How To Bust a Move or Two!

As a 2-time Super Bowl champ, Travis certainly knows how to celebrate, and the field is his dance floor! In an interview with People, he gave total credit to his mom Donna Kelce (AKA "Mama Kelce") for his own rhythm, dance moves, and fun-spirited state of mind. “You throw on some B-52s, you’ll see my mom start to go crazy,” Travis joked. “My entire upbringing has been to fuel people with life. I was always taught to be a fountain, not a drain, and provide something instead of draining people out of it.” We can certainly understand why TayTay would be drawn to that kind of vibe!

8. He’s Got a Passion For Fashion

Known as one of the most stylish NFL stars, Travis is always dressed to impress! From tailored suits to causal button-downs, he always makes a statement in his clothing. In 2019, he even created his own sportswear clothing line, Tru Kolors. In his most recent threads, Travis paired a humorous graphic tee with pinstripe trousers while in New York City for his match-up against the New York Jets on Sunday, October 1, and it had the internet rolling on the floor!
