When it comes to cooking for yourself, it’s difficult to figure out where to start, especially when you don’t yet have many recipes in your wheelhouse. Instagram food accounts include both detailed recipes and instructional videos, making it easy to follow the creator’s process. Also, if you need inspiration for what you might want for dinner, scrolling through visuals of different meals can help you decide. Below is a list of five recipe content creators that not only provide the benefits above but have a bonus of focusing on healthy food for a balanced diet!

1. Sarah Bond (@liveeatlearn)

This nutritionist and sensory scientist is known for her easy vegetarian recipes. She is your go-to recipe maker for soups, bowls, salads, and everything to do with veggies! She just came out with a cookbook and posts a recipe a day. Her page is full of satisfying content that you will want to recreate.

2. Ramya Ravuri (@eatsbyramya)

Chef Ramya Ravuri creates content specifically geared towards an audience of 20-somethings and younger, hoping to teach beginners how to cook. She creates meals, desserts, drinks, and more, trying to make her recipes as easy as possible to follow. With lots of Indian inspiration, she helps viewers make easy versions of recipes of a cuisine they might not know much about.

3. Carleigh Bodrug (@plantyou)

This plant-based chef is a New York Times best-selling cookbook author. With tons of unique and amazing one-pan and low-waste recipes, she is definitely somebody worth following if you want to experiment with vegetarian and vegan food. Right now, she has a “soup season” series going on that is perfect as Autumn comes into full force. Her page is a great source of healthy yet delicious food.

4. Jenna Atkins (@jensplantbase)

Jenna is another plant-based chef, though she holds a lot more focus on creating vegan versions of comfort food, often showing non-meat alternatives to classic dishes she loved as a kid. She just came out with an e-book that includes in-depth descriptions of her recipes as well as exclusive videos of her recipes.

5. Lindsay Ostrum (@pinchofyum)

Lindsay Ostrom focuses on creating easy, fun recipes in all different cuisines and styles for her followers to admire and make for themselves. Unlike other chefs on this list, she makes healthy recipes that aren’t just plant-based, perfect for people looking for unique ways to cook their meat.
