15 of the Best Looks from the 2023 NAACP Image Awards!

The NAACP Image Awards were born as a way to honor amazing achievements and representations by people of color in television, music, and literature. Not only did stars shine on stage as they accepted their awards, they also sparkled on the red carpet. Here are some of our favorite looks from this year's ceremony!

 

1. Queen Latifah

All make way for the Queen!! Queen Latifah hosted the 2023 NAACP Image Awards and looked gorgeous in all of the looks she wore for the night. One of the best was a red, floor length gown covered with ruffles by Tony Ward!

 

2. Zendaya

3. Serena Williams

Tennis superstar Serena Williams took home the Jackie Robinson Sports Award after gracing the red carpet in a gorgeous black ensemble designed by Brandon Blackwood. 

 

4. Coco Jones

The singer and actress known for her most recent role in “Bel Air” and Disney movie Let It Shine, Coco Jones looked gorgeous in a black dress and took home an award for Outstanding New Artist.

 

 

5. Marsai Martin

Marsai Martin stunned in a deep blue gown designed by Christian Siriano.

 

6. Janelle Monáe

The mult-talented Janelle Monáe attended the NAACP Image Awards in a red gown designed by Cong Tri. 

 

7. Issa Rae

Actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae looked gorgeous in a lilac colored gown designed by Aknvas.

 

8. Quinta Brunson

Award-winning "Abbott Elementary" producer and star Quinta Brunson sparkled in a gown designed by Dundas. She added more trophies to her collection by winning the award for Outstanding Actress in Comedy Series and Outstanding Breakthrough Creative (Television).

 

9. Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett did the thing and won 3 awards at the NAACP Image Awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, and Outstanding Actress in Drama Series. She wore a white jumpsuit designed by Greta Constantine. 

 

10. Sheryl Lee Ralph

Sheryl Lee Ralph graced the red carpet, leaving everyone in awe with a gorgeous gown designed PISTIS Ghana. Her outfit was an orange and brown Kente gown that looked lovely on her. 

 

11. Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi stunned on the red carpet in a burgundy Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress. 

 

12. Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade

Actress Gabrielle Union and her husband, basketball star Dwyane Wade hit the red carpet running in complementing outfits. Gabrielle shone in a multi-colored, sequined gown designed by Versace. They both took him the President's Award!

 

13. Janelle James

Janelle James, who plays the principal in “Abbott Elementary”, attended the NAACP Image Awards in a gorgeous black and silver gown designed by Christian Siriano. She won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series!

 

14. Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington wore a gorgeous black gown with jeweled spaghetti straps designed by Fendi. 

 

15. Regina Hall

Last but definitely not least, if you’ve seen The Best Man series or When the Bough Breaks, then you know that Regina Hall is not only a great actress but she also has a great sense of style. She wore a black gown by Narces!
