As the leaves start to turn color and the weather is gets chillier, Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal are suddenly on our screens again! The iconic When Harry Met Sally... came out 35 years ago and continues to make audiences swoon, capture hearts, and showcase the constant changes in life. Not only is it a perfect Fall watch, but writer Nora Ephron demonstrates why she is the queen of everything romance.

The beloved rom-com is a classic and continues to prove itself as a masterpiece with every watch. To add to the sweet story, the film teaches the audience lessons about love, friendship, and life. After all, what would a rom-com be without lessons on life? Harry and Sally find themselves navigating their own relationship while approaching the world around them. As we all know, this leads to so much discovery and heartache. Here is everything the duo has taught us!

You’re Never Too Old To Be Silly.

Harry and Sally were never ashamed to be themselves in public when they were together. They shared laughs, put on silly voices, and sang to their heart’s content. Despite getting older, the pair never lost their whimsy. In fact, the older we saw the pair get, the more fun they had together!

Getting Older Is Scary; Grieving Isn’t Linear, So Find People Who Make Time Easier.

Both Harry and Sally experienced the troubles of getting older, falling out of relationships, and finding that what kept them going was their friendships. It’s no secret that life isn’t easy. When Harry Met Sally... never tells you that it is, but it does promise that, with the right people, even the tough won’t feel as bad.

It’s Okay To Have Emotions, It’s Okay To Be Reserved, But It’s All About Finding The Balance.

Harry and Sally have their own ways of expressing their emotions. As they show, Harry’s constant approach to situations with flares of his emotion often cause empty insults, harsh criticisms, and rash decisions. On the complete opposite end, Sally’s coldness toward self-expression leaves so much bottled up. The pair preach the need for balance in their two extremes, which is a much needed lesson.
