Just In Time For Summer, '47 Meters Down' Makes Us Rethink Going In The Water!

I think we're going to need a bigger... cage?

Wait, what?

There's a new shark in town, folk. Just in time for summer, and they're calling it the Jaws of the Millennial generation. Obviously it will be hard to top the iconic Jaws, but 47 Meters Down brings a new twist to a terrifying shark tale.

EXTRA AIR TANKS?!?! HOW ABOUT YOU GET SOMETHING TO GET THEM BACK UP TO THE SURFACE WITHOUT GETTING CHOMPED ON BY SHARKS?!

Sorry, I was a little stressed watching that.

As you saw in the trailer, Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) are on vacation in Mexico when they decide to do one of those get-in-a-cage-and-swim-with-the-sharks adventures, but then Murphy's Law kicks in and they find themselves stuck at the bottom of the ocean (47 meters down, to be exact...) with a limited air supply with hangry sharks swimming all around them.

WORST NIGHTMARE EVER.

I just wanted Mandy Moore to sing like she usually does. Why does she have to go and get all suspense thriller on us? I need something to calm my nerves here...

Ahhhh much better.

But back to 47 Meters Down... The movie actually seems very intense and I don't even want to think about what I would do if I were in that situation. Hopefully, Lisa and Kate can make it out of there unscathed. What am I saying? We're dealing with sharks here, people. Someone is going to get hurt! Someone might even die!!

It will be interesting to see how the director, Johannes Roberts, uses the setting of being underwater for the majority of the film to tell a full story. Although they are in the vast ocean, the space is actually very confined due to the shark-infested waters.

Just from watching the trailer, I would sum up the movie in one would-you-rather question: Would you rather drown or get eaten by a shark??

47 Meters Down is in theaters now! And be sure to check out our exclusive chat with Claire Holt in the YH Studio where she revealed the reason she wanted to take this role!
