The star's nickname follows in the tabloid trend for combining celebrity couple's names, such as 'Brangelina' for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and 'Bennifer', for ex-partners Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
But Johansson does not take kindly to people abbreviating her name, and has blasted the idea of a "mangled moniker".
She tells USA Today, "It's laziness. People can't actually say the whole name? It's just bizarre.
"Why is that? Why do I have to get 'stuck' with a mangled moniker?"
