Singer Cody Simpson is convinced his split from Gigi Hadid is just temporary.
The 17-year-old Australian star split from the model in early May (14), after less than a year of dating.
However, Simpson tells People magazine the couple parted ways so he could focus on his burgeoning music career, and he hopes their paths will cross again in the future.
He says, "I definitely don't imagine it being over for good. We're still really good friends and we chat. We just had to slow it down."
Hadid appears alongside R&B superstar Miguel in the music video for his new single Simple Things, which debuted on Thursday (29May14). She is seen sharing romantic scenes on the beach with the Grammy winner.
