Gasp! BLACKPINK Is Back!

Written by Heather Van Ness. Published: August 12 2022

The mega popular K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK surprised fans earlier this month when they made a handful of heavily-anticipated announcements. All four members -- Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa -- took to their socials to reveal that they will be releasing new music before the end of the year. Their label, YG, confirmed that, along with a pre-release single titled “Pink Venom'' releasing August 19 (12am EST / 1pm KST), the girls will also be releasing their sophomore album, Born Pink, the following month. As if fans weren’t excited enough, BLACKPINK also shared future locations for their world tour (set to commence in October).

Ahead of the “Pink Venom” music video and streaming release next week, BLACKPINK have shared posters and teasers online, wearing their signature pink, gray, and black color palette. Their concept, “girl-crush”, focuses on embodying female strength by embracing cool visuals and confident lyrics. In the photo artwork, the girls stare down the camera in close-up shots accented by fractured glass.

Then just a month after “Pink Venom” blesses our ears, Born Pink will be available. Mark your calendars for September 16 to start streaming the album immediately! For those fans that want a head start, album pre-orders are available NOW through September 15 on YG’s official website

Then fans will have 2 months before the Born PinkWorld Tour commences on October 15. As of now, there is no update on when tickets will be available for pre-sale, but Blinks would be wise to sign up for ticketing newsletters and alerts so that they don’t miss any crucial information. This will be BLACKPINK’s first tour in 3 years, so you don’t want to miss out.

The group first debuted together August 8, 2016 – 6 years ago! They have given us bops like “DDU-DU DDU-DU'' and “How You Like That”, amassing billions of views on YouTube. This is sure to be a busy year for the girls, and we definitely can’t wait to see what new bops this era gives us!
