ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Brooke Eden

Written by Gabbi Wiesehan. Published: August 10 2021

For the past handful of years, Brooke Eden had been releasing music as an up-and-coming country singer/songwriter. She dropped a few hits like “Act Like You Don’t” and “Daddy’s Money”, which broke the Top 50 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart back in 2015. Other than that, we haven’t heard a lot from Eden.

Until now.

She’s officially reintroduced herself as Brooke Eden, Proudly Queer Country Artist. And we are absolutely LIVING for her coming out journey. Since Eden’s made her new debut to her fans (both old and new), we think it’s only fair we help you meet this unbelievably talented queen of country.

She Opened For Garth Brooks

Which is, like, a huge deal in the world of country music. Garth Brooks is up there in the top iconic country singers. Eden had opened Brooks’s stadium tour in Oregon at Autzen Stadium in 2019. Did we mention Autzen Stadium seats a whopping 60,000 people?

She’s Engaged To Her Girlfriend

Eden has been dating her long-time girlfriend Hilary Hoover since 2015, and they’re probably one of the cutest couples we’ve ever seen. The two announced their engagement in May, and we’re patiently counting down the days until the wedding.

Hilary Starred In Her Music Video

This year, Eden released her single “Sunroof”, and its music video stars none other than the engaged couple cruising in a car with the top down. I’ve bumped “Sunroof” approximately 5 million times and will never get sick of it. And the music video? Perfect. The outfits. The vibe. Everything. [*chef’s kiss*]

Trisha Yearwood Gender-Swapped a Song For Her

In June, Eden performed at the Grand Ole Opry with country icon Trisha Yearwood (which is, again, a double whammy when it comes to being a big deal) and the two sang Yearwood’s hit “She’s in Love With The Boy”. It was Yearwood’s idea to change it to “She’s in Love With The Girl” to celebrate Pride Month and Eden’s engagement. Seeing two insanely talented women celebrate love and equality through country music is awe-inspiring to say the least, and we can’t wait to see what Eden has in store for us in the future as an artist free to be her authentic self.
