5 Exciting New Game Shows You Should Be Watching!

Sick of just passively watching TV? Think you may be a secret trivia master? Try your hand at playing along with the newest game shows on television. While classic game shows like “Family Feud” and “Jeopardy!” are known and loved by many, newer and more unique game shows are constantly hitting TV screens. Here is a list of new game shows that began airing in 2023 that you should check out right away! 

 

1. "Snake Oil" (Fox)

One of the newest comedy game shows on this list is the show “Snake Oil”, hosted by comedian David Spade. As the title suggests, contestants on the show have to determine whether a product being shown is authentic or “snake oil”, an old-timey term used to describe a scam. Through visuals, custom-made infomercials, and questions for the business representatives, contestants must expertly deduce which one of the two products displayed is completely made-up. Plus, each episode features two contestants and a celebrity advisor, the likes of which include Will Arnett, JB Smoove, and even Ice-T!

 

 

 

2. "That’s My Jam" (NBC)

If you’ve watched the iconic game segments on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'' and thought to yourself, "I could crush that" — this is your chance! “That’s My Jam” is an hour-long comedy variety show hosted by "Tonight Show" host Mr. Fallon himself. Each episode features two teams of celebrities competing for a charity of their choice in a series of music, dance, and trivia-based games and musical performances. The impressive roster of musical talent on the show is sure to impress, including Ariana Grande, Chance the Rapper, Jason Derulo, and many more! 

 

 

 

3. "Jeopardy! Masters" (ABC)

“Jeopardy!” the game show has become a household name, but “Jeopardy! Masters” takes the classic show to the next level – the boss level. This series features the 6 highest-ranked current “Jeopardy!” contestants as they face off in a Champions League-style match to win the title of “Jeopardy!" Masters Champion. With all the contestants being tried and tested "Jeopardy!" champs, this series is certain to be as nail-biting and competitive as the title promises. Play along with the best of the best to see if you too can be deemed a “Jeopardy!” master. 

 

 

 

4. "Hey Yahoo" (GSN)

“Hey Yahoo” rides on the familiar game show format of guessing what most people have searched for, but only using Yahoo! Search. The series can be watched on the Game Show Network and is hosted by actor Tom Cavanaugh. In the show, two teams of 3 players are given the first-half of the search and asked to fill in the blank. At the end of 3 rounds, the team with the most money wins and will go on to the bonus round for a chance to win $10,000. Even if you’re a die-hard Google Search fan, “Hey Yahoo”’s hilarious charm should still win you over. 

 

 

 

5. "Who The Bleep Is That?" (Fox)

Want to put your random celebrity knowledge to the test? Then “Who The Bleep Is That?” is the show for you. This half-hour game show on FOX hosted by comedian Jeff Dye has contestants wracking their brains for all the pop culture knowledge they have. The monitor displays obscured and distorted images of various celebrity figures in TV, music, sports, and even politics. The fastest contestor to buzz in and correctly guess the famous person wins the points, and after 3 rounds, one lucky contestant with the highest points will get to play for the grand prize!
