5 Book Recs To Get On Your Spring Reading List!

Written by Lee Lard. Published: April 04 2025

The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and that means it’s time for Spring Break! Whether you go to the beach, hike some mountains, or stay at home for some well-deserved rest and relaxation, my favorite spring break pastime is curling up with a good book. Here are 5 recent releases to get your Spring reading list started!

1. Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins

One of the most highly-anticipated releases of the year, Sunrise on the Reaping is the second prequel to the Hunger Games series, taking place 50 years after A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and 25 years before The Hunger Games. Readers finally get the backstory of fan favorite Haymitch Abernathy, who mentors Katniss through her first Games and becomes a mainstay in the revolution.

2. Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

Hazelwood is known for her balance of spicy and fluffy in romance novels like The Love Hypothesis and Love on the Brain. She tilts towards spice in this college romance between a competitive diver and an Olympic-bound swimmer. The story of Scarlett and Lukas is a perfect beach read.

3. Oathbound by Tracy Deonn

The third in what was originally to be a trilogy but has now expanded to a four-part series, Oathbound has hit the shelves this month. If you haven’t been keeping up, The Legendborn Cycle is a loose retelling of the Knights of Camelot, centering on a young girl with unimaginable power named Bree Matthews. Oathbound begins with Bree at her lowest, when she feels that she has lost everyone and everything she’s been fighting for. She’s running, but the past will always catch up to her...

4. Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez

Abby Jimenez, known for New York Times Best Sellers like Life’s Too Short and Part of Your World, is back with an emotional heavy-hitter. The story of Xavier and Samantha starts with a classic meet-ugly, followed by a shockingly perfect first date. Samantha knows that being in the midst of a personal crisis isn’t a good time to start a relationship, and she disappears like Cinderella into the night. But they just can’t seem to leave each other well enough alone – is a perfect night really a good foundation for the rest of your life?

5. All That Life Can Afford by Emily Everett

If literary fiction is more your style, try this pick from Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club. The lyrical prose pulls the reader through a story breaking down class, privilege, and love as Anna, our leading lady, tries to navigate being dropped into the laps of the London elite.

Happy reading!
