What's up, guys? Leslie Robbins here. Young Hollywood is back with our friend Snoop Dogg because his baby girl is launching her baby.
Okay, so here you are launching your baby and your baby. Lots of babies going up. Right, right. So talk about this launch today.
Yes. So, me and my partner Wayne, we created Choc Factory, lip cosmetic line. And I wanted to do something that really focused on making dark-skinned women, like, feel comfortable and giving them a safe space, 'cause I feel like we try really hard to fit in and Wayne, he's the beauty and the brains behind all of this wonderful magic that we've created. So, yeah, that's kind of what made me want to start it and him kind of helped me come to life.
So, what's the magic behind the line? What makes you feel so beautiful?
I think enhancing your natural beauty, right? Like I'm not really a makeup girly. I love to just throw on a little one, two and and keep it going.
A one, two is gloss. Like, what is a one, two?
That's just my lingo. So, I just really wanted to create a safe space where women felt like they had a space to belong. 'Cause I feel like society makes it hard to fit in. You have to be perfect or you have to have a certain body shape when we're all beautiful in our own ways.
Well, can we talk about body shape for a second?
Let's talk about it. We're gonna be I'm excited. Yes, we're having a girl. This was definitely unplanned. Um, but God doesn't make any mistakes. So, I'm glad for what the future has to offer for Wayne and I.
What are you gonna teach your girl? 'Cause being a girl's hard.
Oh, it's so hard. I think just instill in her mind right away that you're beautiful. And hopefully she's chocolate like her mommy. Just let her know that chocolate is beautiful, chocolate is in, and who cares what other people have to say? 'Cause when you start her young now, when they're young, that whatever anybody else has to say doesn't matter because she's gonna know from the get-go. She knows now. She's beautiful and she's the best.
Now, your dad's best. What type of business smarts has he passed on to you? 'Cause now you're a business gal.
One thing about my parents is they've always let me and my siblings figure it out. Um, they're there to support, obviously, but it's more so we are our own luck and we kind of just gotta figure it out on our own. He could tell me something, but it might not be what works for me, you know. So, it's whatever works for me and just keep doing what I'm doing, stay motivated and keep putting in the hard work.
What advice has he given you that's worked out?
Never give up. 'Cause at one point he thought I couldn't sing, which I agree. He thought I couldn't do a lot of things, but he's just he's tough on me and I love that. I'm a Cancer, so I'm very sensitive. He's a Libra like my dad. I always call him Snoop Jr. They're very similar but it's love, you know, it comes from it comes from the heart.
Well, you brought up the word love. It is Valentine's Day weekend. How has the love been this weekend and what advice do you have for people that like want to make it in a relationship or even dating for goodness sake? I'm like I need some help.
I mean, I'm 25. I'm still learning how this love life go and how to you know, even love yourself. I feel like that's where it starts with, loving yourself. You gotta love yourself first because if you don't love yourself, how are you supposed to love anything else or anybody else? So, it has to start within.
Steps to loving yourself. What do you got?
I think the brain is very powerful, you know. Look in the mirror. I'm beautiful. I'm this, I'm that. And then eventually you'll start believing it.
That's amazing. Well, you wanna show me some lip gloss, right?
Yeah, let's do it.
Let's see what we're working with.
Okay, let's see what we're working with. So, we have our beautiful glosses. We have six lip gloss shades, six lip liners, a lip mask, and a lip scrub. So, my main thing was really I wanted to create gloss that made sense for all skin tones. Um, and what I love the most about our gloss is that it's color but it's subtle. Right now I have on Hot Cocoa, which is a chocolate
Which one is that? brown. Would I try that one? Which one would look good on me?
Whatever you want. girly. Let's put you on some brown.
You're doing it like a real um, beauty expert putting it on the Q-tip. Look at that. Oh, yeah, hold on. Put you use your mirror so you can see what's going on. Okay. Ready? Oh, that's bomb. There she go.
And that's girly for you. Every gloss color looks beautiful on no matter your lip color, no matter your skin tone. I think that's what I truly love the most about our product.
Well, you're beautiful.
Thank you.
