If you haven’t seen Freeform’s new thriller series, "Cruel Summer", yet, watch it tonight! It is mysterious, emotional, confusing, and mind-blowing. Set in a fictional Texas town in 1993, 1994, and 1995, the series follows the disappearance of a small town’s beloved it girl Kate Wallis who goes missing without any trace. The story becomes suspicious when, after Kate goes missing, another teenage girl from the same town, Jeanette Turner, who used to be an outcast, suddenly starts dating Kate’s boyfriend, hanging out with Kate’s friends, and taking over her life. The classic novel was also mentioned in the series as it is a significant influence behind "Cruel Summer"’s identity theft storyline.
