What up, what up? I'm Ruby Wilson with Young Hollywood. How are you?
I'm amazing. How are you, baby?
I'm good. I know. How are you? I'm amazing. First and foremost, I just want you guys to literally adopt me. You guys are like the quintessential parents in my eyes, truly.
Aw, thank you.
Sure. We're, we're empty nesters, so we have a spot in the house. So let's go.
Mommy, Daddy, and mom. Well, first and foremost, I just, I've got to say, y'all came in swinging for season three. Like season three is everything and more, like real talk. You guys didn't hold anything back, which I am obsessed with.
Thank you.
Now, you know, one thing that I've realized in my personal life is that our parents don't know everything. They really don't, and they're learning along the way, and they have feelings and all those different things. Now, looking back at the past season one, season two, and even season three, is there anything that you guys have noticed about your parenting style that you like and that you don't like? What is it?
Yeah, I mean, I've talked about this already. I think it's a dad. Um, dad's, dad's want to fix things. They want to, they want to move forward, they want to get through the problem. And what I've learned through that, not everything's fixable. And sometimes Dixie, Charlie, and Heidi just want to be heard, and they don't want the problem solved. And that goes a long way, honestly. Not all, but that's my first goal. It's always like, all right, what's the problem? Okay, how do we fix it? And, uh, yeah, that that's that's it for me. That's
What about you? For, for me, I feel like, you know, I've always been very adamant about, you know, as our kids, as the girls were growing up, like they needed a mom and they needed parents, not us to be their friends. And I think that is starting to shift. I mean, they, they say it all the time. They do like knowing, like, we're the parents and, you know, they, they are understanding that we don't know everything because we're very open about that. Um, so they're starting to get that part of it, but they do like knowing we do at least have life experience. So they, they, they appreciate that. But, um, you know, as far as like our dynamic, I just am getting really good at just listening and, um, you know, sometimes they need a vent and just say things, and they just want to be heard by somebody who's not going to really say much. And I've been getting much better with that.
I love it, I love it. Kudos to you guys, real talk. Now, I want to know, a little little fun, I want to know, if you guys were in a coma today or tomorrow, what is one song that could wake you up? Instantly.
Ooh.
Ooh.
Wait, and what?
Party in the U. S. A. , Miley Cyrus. Let's go. Yeah.
Wait, I'm up.
Hit him up, Tupac.
Nice. Oh, you a gangster. You a G Mark. Okay. He got it locked in his worry. I'm done, I'm done. Now, once again, you guys are part of an amazing docu-series/reality show. What is one thing that you guys wish that you would have learned or known about the process before signing on?
I think the misconception was originally, like, when we, I thought I'd wake up and roll out of bed and it'd be a camera in my face like this. Uh, and but it is real, but they just, they, they follow our schedule, so there's nothing that they, they create, but they follow our schedule. And, and I think that's why season three is comes over a little bit more comfortable, a little bit more raw, because not that we have better storylines, we're just more comfortable walking through our house and knowing that we're, we're, you know, we know how to get miked. We know how to, that we know that there's a camera. We're more comfortable with it. We, we did not come from this world, so it was almost like we were like, we would joke around and almost do the office type stuff where we would look into the camera. Break, break, break the fourth wall. Yeah, yeah, we do that. And Dixie and Charlie do that all the time. But now it's just like, and we got comfortable with, we love the crew and we got comfortable with the camera guys and the sound guys. And that makes for good, that and it it's it is reality and it makes for good reality because they get you to be so comfortable that you are being yourself.
Got it. Now, I'm curious to know, how long have you guys been together, like married?
We just, we met in 1997. So, but we
So together 25 years, married 23.
That is incredible.
Yeah.
That is everything. Um, now I'm curious to know, what is the most ridiculous argument that you guys have had? Think about the past 25 years.
Oh, easy. If I have a dream, a bad dream about him and I'm, I so I wake up mad at him, and he doesn't believe dreams, which is crazy. I think a lot of people could attest to the fact that
No. Look, if I get in trouble for something, I at least want to at least want to be guilty of doing it, not have some stick that is
My perception is my reality. So in my dream, it was real, so I have to be mad at you in real life. So that this has been an ongoing argument since we met.
Yeah, and I'm super OCD. So like, I'm crazy with organization and my closet. And I've had to learn just to look the other way.
I love it. Just to leave my closet alone.
Yeah, you you can't, you can't touch our closet at all. No.
Are you, wait, Mark, are you a Virgo?
No, I'm Scorpio.
Scorpio, dangerous. What about you, Heidi? You're a sign.
Capricorn.
Now, lastly, lastly, lastly, one word to describe season three of the Damelio Show.
Real.
Feisty.
Ooh. I like that. I'm here for all of it. Congratulations on season three. You guys are absolutely amazing.
You're amazing.
Thank you.
Good to see you.
