Disney star Zendaya Coleman is set to play late R&B singer Aaliyah in an upcoming TV biopic.
The 17 year old actress is gearing up to star in Aaliyah: Princess of R&B for the Lifetime network.
The project is being adapted from author Christopher Farley's bestselling biography Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.
Coleman is best known for her starring role in Disney's TV series Shake It Up!, but she is also a former Dancing With the Stars runner-up.
Try Again hitmaker Aaliyah died in a 2001 plane crash at the age of 22.
