Your Guide To Super Bowl XVII!

Written by Tashi Rios. Published: February 09 2023

It’s that time again! One of America’s favorite holidays is coming up this weekend. That’s right -- the 2023 Super Bowl! Here's everything you need to know!

WHERE AND WHEN:

The Super Bowl XVII is set to take place THIS Sunday, February 12. Kick-off time is scheduled for 3:30 PST at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. FOX Network will nationally broadcast the game with Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen as announcers.

WHO:

The Kansas City Chiefs will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles to compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Both teams finished 14-3 in the regular season and are determined to win the championship. The last time the Chiefs won was in 2020 against the San Francisco 49ers. On the other hand, the previous time the Eagles appeared was in 2017 with their win against the New England Patriots.

MAKING HISTORY:

There are two stand-out moments ahead of the game that we absolutely have to share. For example, this is the first time both teams have starting Black quarterbacks in Super Bowl history: Patrick Mahomes with the Chiefs and Jalen Hurts with the Eagles. The game also features two brothers playing against each other for the very first time in the Super Bowl -- Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Eagles center Jason Kelce.

THE PERFORMERS:

But it's not a Super Bowl without the performers. Country singer Chris Stapleton will kick off the game by singing the National Anthem. Last September, Apple Music took over as the sponsor for the Halftime Show, revealing that singer and businesswoman Rihanna set to perform! She’s celebrating with official Fenty merchandise and products that we just have to get. We are counting the days to watch RiRi take the stage -- this is what we came for!

THE COMMERCIALS:

The commercials keep getting bigger and better each year! We hope to see Maya Ruldoph make her M&M's debut while multiple Adam Drivers will be on hand to promote Squarespace. Bud Light will have Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh recreating the famous dancing scene from Risky Business, Alicia Silverstone will be channeling her iconic character from Clueless for Rakuten, and PopCorners is having a "Breaking Bad" reunion between Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. Also keep an eye out for ads starring Anna Faris, Pete DavidsonWill Ferrell, John Cena, Paul Rudd, and many more. Doritos is expected to make an appearance too; the company released an exclusive look at their commercial starring rapper Jack Harlow. Check it out below!

We are so excited for the Super Bowl and need the game plan ASAP. Chiefs or Eagles? What will Rihanna’s opening song be? Which TikToker will be the star in a commercial? So many questions to be answered on the final football Sunday for the 2022-2023 NFL season!
