WOMEN WE LOVE: Olivia Dean

“It’s so easy to fall in love with” Olivia Dean. Her beautifully nostalgic and smooth yet playful voice seduces your ears from the very first note. After the success of her hit album The Art of Loving and with 45.6 million Spotify listeners behind her, the 26-year-old English musician is on track to becoming one of the defining voices of our generation. 

Although many listeners may be just discovering her now, Olivia Dean has been carving out her place in the music sphere since October 2018, when she self-released her debut single on YouTube, "Reason to Stay". After signing with a record label in 2019, Dean continued releasing one-off tracks. It wasn’t until 2023 that she made her album debut with Messy, featuring favorites like “Dive".

On September 26 of this year, Dean released her second studio album,The Art of Loving, which was an instant success with standout tracks like “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall In Love)". These songs quickly gained traction on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, contributing to the widespread popularity of the album.  

Listeners and music mavens can’t get enough of her fresh yet classic R&B-flavored pop sound. On November 7 the Grammy nominations for the 68th annual awards were announced. Dean secured a nomination for the Best New Artist category, one of the most anticipated categories each year. 

Only the best of the best musicians are given the opportunity to perform on "Saturday Night Live"’s infamous 30 Rock stage. On November 15, Dean joined the ranks of those greats, performing two hit tracks from her latest album, “Man I Need” and “Let Alone The One You Love", stunning audiences with her magnetic voice.  

Dean has not only wowed audiences with her music but also her impeccable style. A mixture of chic, trendy and inventive, Dean’s outfits perfectly match her radiant energy and elegant singing voice. Thanks to help from her stylist, Simone Beyene, Dean is quickly becoming a fashion icon. 

Dean is set to go on her The Art of Loving Live Tour in April 2026, kicking off her first body of shows in Europe and wrapping up with a North American leg, with the last performance in August. It’s no surprise that her European dates sold out so fast — and now that her North American shows are on sale, they’re bound to go just as quickly.
