What To Expect From Season 4 of "Outer Banks"!
The "Outer Banks" cast recently announced they finished filming the 4th season. After its initial release in 2020, the show became a Netflix fan favorite. The action-packed teen show about chasing after long-lost gold ended Season 3 fairly open. Now that the hunt for the gold is over, what will happen for this upcoming season?
Throughout the series, the search for gold has caused deaths, friendships, relationships, heartbreak, loss, and pain. We have watched the original Core Four expand to 5 with Sarah Cameron and now 6 with Cleo. From being regular teens enjoying their summer on the hunt for the royal merchant, the Pogues have turned into treasure-hunting pros.
Season 3 followed the Pogues -- John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), JJ (Rudy Pankow), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) -- half on different foreign lands, constantly running from local law enforcement. In Season 3, the Pogues discovered that the Royal Merchant goes deeper than just “some lost gold” -- It was connected to Pope’s family. After losing that gold, the Pogues learned of the mystery of El Diroto and how to find it. After barely escaping, the Pogues returned to the Outer Banks and reconnected with their families. Pope and Kiara had to explain why they were gone and attempt to regain their parent’s trust. After discovering that the gold they were searching for was in South America, Sarah got her dad to organize a jet for her and the Pogues to get to South America safely. Kiara was shipped off to a wilderness therapy camp just hours before they were set to leave. While they were leaving, JJ went to the camp to break her out. After securing an alternate flight out, JJ sneaked into the camp under a false identity. He successfully broke her out, and the two made it to South America.
After a blood bath to get the gold and losing Sarah and John B’s fathers, the Pouges returned home at the end of the season. We saw them all at an 18-month jump after their return home. They were being honored by the town for their bravery and returning ancient relics from their journey. At the end of the final episode, the group was approached and asked to find the sunken treasure of Edward Teach, AKA Blackbeard. The Pogues agreed, making this their first official job as treasure hunters.
We know that Season 4 will follow the Pogues, who may not be Pogues anymore, as they search for more lost treasure. While we don’t know much about the man who made this proposal or the treasure itself, we can expect the drama during the season to focus more on the relationships between the Pouges and less on their teenage rebellion. Similar to seasons 2 and 3, we should expect more action-packed storylines of them running from foreign authorities and other influential people who feel entitled to the treasure.
We expect to see the Pogues in a new light, since they will be older and more mature as they will be employed to do this. The big questions following the end of the last season mostly revolve around JJ and Kiara’s relationship. They share a long-awaited kiss during Episode 9 of Season 3, but fans are eager to know more about these new romances and adventures.
The new season's release date has not been announced, but it is anticipated to be sometime this year. Stay tuned!
