You are a mentalist, that's not a magician. That's not a clown. That's not an illusionist. It's not a psychic.

It's not a psychic.

What are you?

So a mentalist is an entertainer. It's someone who can read people's mind, can influence people's mind. Sometimes to hypnotize. It's more about entertainment, the show. Uh I'm using psychological techniques to create the illusion of the sixth sense. So basically I'm using an NLP, suggestion, hypnosis, memory, math, intuition sometimes, to learn about the human brain, trying to understand not what you think, but how you think.

Now, how is it that you're able to do that and I'm not? What do you have that I don't have?

So, I started performing at the age of nine and I was always very passionate about it. Even when I wasn't a mentalist, I was asking people, "Think of a color" and I was trying to guess it. I told my father, "Hide a coin in one of your hands, I'll try to guess it." When I did it again and again, I started to learn about patterns, about why people do what they do. Why did you put it in your right hand and then you switched it to the left hand? So I started learning about the human brain and I was so fascinated about it. I started practicing more and more since I'm nine, now 21. And I just feel like it picked me.

Israel's got talent picked you as a finalist. You were 13 when you made your television debut. Talk about that experience. That must have been to to use that phrase again, mind blowing.

It was crazy. I'm from Israel, from a small town in the north side. I had to fake my parents' signature just to get in the show because they didn't want me to go. I always had a faith about my passion and about where I'm going to be and I worked really hard. And for me, performing that big such a big stage at such a young age. I felt blessed and very thankful.

Well, from Israel to Hollywood. We are now on a gorgeous rooftop in the heart of Hollywood. You had the Laugh Factory last night. You're going on tour for the rest of the year. You had a residency in Dubai. How is how is tour life been for you?

It's challenging, always being on the road. Since I'm 14, 15, I started flying in and out of the country and now it's very intense. Always traveling. You're always around people, meeting people, performing. Sometimes it also feels lonely because you are traveling to a new place. Most of the time it's like hotel rooms and then go to the show, go to a meeting, go back. But I feel like this is my passion. This is what I'm I was always dreaming about performing and when I'm on stage, it's I'm the most comfortable, the happiest person ever.

So it's not just understanding what you're going to think of, just trying to reverse engineering the process of thinking and understanding how can I get you to think of what I want you to think?

How did you get me to think what you wanted me to think? How?

Exactly, and you're so being able to talk about personal stuff, guessing something from your own past. Wow. So I just moved to the states. Officially. Officially. I'm living in New York right now. My home, my home state.

Yeah. It's amazing. I love this place. I was always flying back and forth and I fell in love with LA, but also in New York. A little bit more. Yeah. And I chose to to move there, to live there and now doing private events, corporate events, TV, performing all over.

Okay, so why don't you and I now go to the corner store and just buy some Lotto tickets? How about that?

So that's actually, everybody asked me this question, if you can predict the lottery and it's there is no, I cannot because lottery, it's not someone that picks those numbers and I can manipulate him to think about what number I want him to think or take that thought. Basically it's a computer, it's just random numbers, so I cannot predict it. But it's like casinos. People ask me, "Do you go to the casinos?" I'm not allowed to go to the casinos.

You're joking, really?

I'm not allowed to go to the casinos.

What? Stop breaking news. You're not allowed to go to casinos.

Yeah, because I'm a mentalist. If you go to a casino, not for like a show or something, if you're going to gamble in casinos, it's like they cross media all over if you see you're a mentalist, you're banned. You're not allowed to go to.

How do they know who you are?

So when they scan the passport, they cross it with media like internet, social media, things like that. It's very yeah, they're very smart these days. And it's not like I can guess what's going to happen, but using my skills, body language reading, um very good memory, math. I can use it in my favor, not for 100% winning, but to bring the odds more in my favor.

So all of the tools and techniques that you use, could you teach me anything, so maybe I can do it one day?

Of course, I would love to teach you some stuff. Okay.

Not about how to read people's mind, but how you can use those psychological techniques that I use in my show for entertainment for your own life. I'll give you an example. For example, if you talk to someone and you want to try to convince him in your point, just look at him or her, say your point and nod your head while you're saying it because nodding your head gets more people to exactly imitate, do the same thing. And then they will be more likely to agree with you. One it's like mirroring. You do it and they feel more likely to agree. One other things that you can use is try to use the same vocabulary. For example, if you're someone that says "like" a lot. I'll use the same vocabulary. I'll try to talk kind of the same way you're talking, same phrases, same words and then you'll feel more close like closer to me because you have things in like in common and you'll be more likely to agree with me. If you want to get someone to do something you asked. So first of all, start with asking something small. Something they will agree 100%. And then after they do it, they feel committed because they already did one thing, then when you ask the bigger thing they'll have to do it. So it's a small like small techniques that you can use to be just a better communicator I'll say.

What happens over text messages?

Over text messages. That's not easy because when someone texts you and you text someone, you don't really know like you don't see the body language, you don't see what's happening. That's actually what I had to face in during COVID. Okay, I'm going to be the first mentalist who's going to perform Zoom like on camera. And I was doing more than 150 shows during COVID through Zoom, online. It was a great experience. So that's something I'm trying to work on now about text. How can I read people's mind through text? I'm not there yet, but I'm working on it.
