Wayne suffers head wound in skate crash

Rapper Lil Wayne was taken to hospital for stitches to his head after falling off a skateboard on Sunday (21Aug11).

The Lollipop hitmaker was in St. Louis, Missouri ahead of his show in Kansas City on Monday (22Aug11) when he took time out to visit a skate park with pals.

He suffered a wound above his left eye after taking a tumble and was taken to a hospital in the city, where he received nine stitches to the gash.

In a post on his Twitter.com blog, the rapper writes, "The Lou (St. Louis) was good but I busted my fuggin (sic) head at the sk8park (sic)! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people."
