VIRAL ALERT: A Starter Guide To The Slushyverse!

Created in May 2023, Slushy Noobz is made up of the energetic and humorous duo Martin and Hamzah. Primarily creating vlogs, mukbangs, and gaming content, their popularity has skyrocketed over the last couple of years, to the point where they could now be considered part of the canon of successful YouTubers. Their videos are engaging, refreshing, and almost always original, but what really draws viewers in is their constant back-and-forth banter -- which some might consider an acquired taste, or at least something you have to warm up to. Their humor rarely relies on slapstick sketches or especially dark themes; instead, it usually comes from pushing a joke to its absolute limit until it becomes, at times, almost unbearably awkward to watch.

The most heartfelt and authentic part of the channel, however, is their friendship. Their viewership notably spiked after their now-iconic boxing match live, which ended with both of them giving surprisingly sincere speeches reflecting on their time working together. It’s genuinely refreshing to see what could easily just be a working partnership instead feel like such a real and grounded friendship.

As their fanbase has grown, so has the collection of recurring "characters" and familiar faces that regularly appear across their videos. These people have become a huge part of what makes the channel feel so unique, especially through the duo’s unpredictable interactions with the public. Some moments with fans or strangers they meet are unexpectedly wholesome, while others are, to put it lightly, painfully awkward to watch -- in an oddly endearing way, of course. So, if you’re confused by the ever-expanding "Slushyverse", here’s a starter guide to its core characters!

Hamzah

The member who originally reached out to start the channel, you might already recognise Hamzah from 4FreakShow, the YouTube collective that became especially popular during the pandemic for their chaotic and entertaining online calls. After being deported back to Canada, however, Hamzah later reached out to Martin, leading to the creation of Slushy Noobz. Hamzah’s humor often comes across as slightly air-headed and intentionally nonsensical, frequently throwing out random responses purely for the sake of the bit. One of his most well-known -- and often misunderstood -- running jokes is his exaggerated confusion or discomfort around anything remotely "gay", a style of humor that relies heavily on irony and absurd overreaction. Paired with Martin’s equally disorderly energy, their conversations often spiral so far off track that it becomes impossible to remember what they were originally talking about in the first place.

Martin

Before Slushy Noobz, Martin was best known for his TikToks playing the role of the awkward "good guy" who never gets the girl -- a persona built entirely around discomfort, sincerity, and intentional cringe. That same energy carried over into the channel, where Martin quickly became known for his relentless positivity and commitment to even the most painfully awkward jokes. If Hamzah’s humor often revolves around avoiding interaction with people as much as possible, Martin’s is the complete opposite. He thrives on talking to strangers, usually dragging Hamzah out of his shell in the process -- often very much against his will. What makes Martin especially entertaining, though, is his ability to fully commit to a bit while still respecting people’s boundaries. He pushes interactions further than most creators would dare, creating moments of unbearable second-hand embarrassment, but never to the point where they feel mean-spirited. In between the chaos, he also manages to create some genuinely wholesome and surprisingly heartfelt interactions, which is a huge part of why viewers have become so attached to the channel.

Mandy, Claire, & Chase

Mandy, Claire, and Chase are easily some of the most recognizable and beloved figures in the Slushyverse. Mandy, Martin’s fiancée, is known for keeping both members of the duo in check, with her blunt and dry sense of humor acting as the perfect contrast to the chaos of the channel (she also has a her own channel, Mandy’s Iphone!). Claire and Chase, meanwhile, are best known as Hamzah’s former co-members from 4FreakShow, often bringing a similar style of humor that matches Hamzah and Martin’s dynamic perfectly whenever they appear in videos. The group as a whole are close friends -- with Hamzah and Claire also dating -- which makes their appearances on the channel feel even more natural and entertaining for longtime viewers.

Rudolph, John, & Zarq

Rudolph, John, and Zarq became fan favorites after appearing in one of Slushy Noobz’s most chaotic and unexpectedly wholesome videos. The premise saw Martin and Hamzah reunite 3 people who had previously helped them during different videos, bringing them together, quite literally, from across the world as a way of showing appreciation. Rudy had been their driver while filming in Curaçao, John was the waiter featured in their Vietnamese food mukbang, and Zarq acted as their security guard while exploring a "haunted" school. Seeing all 3 personalities come together was a huge highlight for viewers but also genuinely heartwarming for the guests themselves. It perfectly captures how Slushy Noobz never shy away from interacting with absolutely anyone they meet. The video itself is also one of their most entertaining, featuring everything from climbing Tokyo Tower to chaotic karaoke sessions.

Yash & Hagenator

As for in-game appearances, Slushy Noobz have that covered too. One of the earliest recurring figures in the Slushyverse was Fortnite player Hagenator19, whose interaction with the duo sparked an ongoing joke about Hamzah being "stolen" from Martin or somehow becoming more popular with other players. After appearing again in another Fortnite video, the moment eventually evolved into a viral TikTok sound and became one of the channel’s most recognisable running bits. Yash, meanwhile, is a newer -- and far more mysterious -- addition to the Slushyverse. A Roblox player who somehow manages to access the exact same servers as Martin and Hamzah, he has become a familiar presence lurking in the background of their videos. Sometimes he briefly interacts with them, but more often he simply watches from afar, keeping a strangely respectful distance that only adds to the humor and mystery surrounding him.

Rudy, Carl, Fish, Red, & Blue

How can we forget about the much beloved pets of Martin and Hamzah? They make frequent enough appearances -- usually in the background of videos -- to be considered part of the Slushyverse. They also have their moments to shine such as Hamzah and Carl’s "beef".
