Venice Film Festival Fashion Round-up: Week 2!

Written by Amelia Gorman. Published: September 14 2022

After two weeks of highly anticipated film premieres, record-breaking standing ovations, and an acclaimed awards ceremony, the 79th Venice Film Festival has come to a close. As promised, here’s our fashion round-up of the best looks to come out of Week 2!

1. Ana de Armas

This list would simply be incomplete without the inclusion of Ana de Armas in her custom Louis Vuitton gown at the premiere of her film Blonde. The actress took on the daunting role of portraying Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in the latest Monroe biopic, so it’s only fitting de Armas chose a daring gown featuring soft pink hand-pleated satin and a stunning plunging neckline. The look was accessorized with a statement diamond necklace and bracelet, creating an elegant yet bold look.

2. Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Next on our list is actress and screenwriter, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, wearing a chic suit from Galvan London 2023 Resort Collection to attend the premiere of Martin McDonagh’s film Banshees of Inisherin (which ended up taking home the award for Best Screenplay). The suit was a gorgeous pale yellow, tailored to perfection, with a sleek sheer top with silver detailing underneath to complete the look.

3. Vanessa Kirby

Vanessa Kirby dazzled in Valentino Fall 2022 Haute Couture to attend the premiere of her film The Son. The nude Valentino gown featured sparkling, sequined detailing and feathering at the bottom of the dress to create a look that embodied elegance and glamour.

4. Laura Dern

Laura Dern also looked radiant on the red carpet in Armani Privé Fall 2022 to attend the premiere of her film The Son. The look featured a stunning navy blue gown with embellished crystal detailing, and was paired with a sequined blazer, adding a level of chicness to complete the look.

5. Taylor Russell

Taylor Russell is back in this list after wearing Ralph Lauren Fall 2007 Collection to accept her Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actress at the Venice Film Festival closing ceremony. The look featured a simple yet elegant all-black gown with a gorgeous bow detailing the back of the gown. The actress wore a slicked hair look with no jewels to accessorize, which we think was an excellent choice.

6. Cate Blanchett

Also making a return from last week’s list is Cate Blanchett in a Louis Vuitton gown to accept the Coppa Volpi Best Actress Award during the closing ceremony of the festival. The gown featured gorgeous draped silk detailing and a chic one-shoulder statement. Elevating the look even further, a stunning silk cape was paired with the gown to add the perfect element of glamour and drama.

Even though we hate to say goodbye to the iconic Venice Film Festival, we’re so grateful for these glamorous looks! We hope you enjoyed the VFF fashion as much as we did!
