What's good, Young Hollywood? I'm here with Miss Madison Beer.
Hey.
What up, Boo?
What's up?
First and foremost, you're super yummy.
Thank you.
So are you.
Oh.
Thank you. Well, welcome back to Young Hollywood.
Thank you. It's been like over a year.
Over a year? Last time we were here.
Maybe it was actually, I think the last time I was here was when I put out "Dead", I'm pretty sure, which was over, which was over a year ago.
Oh, another great song.
Thank you.
Super great.
But yeah, that was that was the last time I'm here, I'm pretty sure.
Do you remember what you were wearing?
I was wearing black for sure because I got so many screen, I was just telling them like, I got so many screenshots of it and there's one where I'm like it looks like I'm thinking in the photo and it's such a cute picture and I always have wanted to post it even though I haven't. And um,
Disrespectful.
It's disrespectful. I'm sorry. And it's I'm wearing a black blazer and I know I was here. So that's how I remember.
That's what's up. Well, first and foremost, I just want to say congratulations. Your new single. Oh my god. That is my jam. It is such a freakin'
Thank you.
Really? Thank you. Girl, I was in the car on the way here like legit owning the night. Do you hear me? It's such a bob. It has like fun like reggae island-y vibes.
Yes.
Absolutely. You know, coming from a, you know, island boy, I appreciate it.
Where are you from?
No, I'm originally from Pittsburgh, one.
Oh.
But I'm half Jamaican.
Oh, I was like, she's like, what is what is it like from Cool answer from Pittsburgh? I wish I could have given you something a little bit more exotic.
I mean, Jamaican is is exotic, so you're fine. It's it's in my blood. It is. Island boy all day. Love, love. So anyway, congratulations. The song is like number 21 on Billboard.
Oh my god. That's crazy. What the f-
It's insane. I know.
It's really crazy. I I mean, it's my first song in the in radio at all and it's like I've pushed um, I pushed "Dead" to radio as well but it wasn't like we didn't it was only being pushed to radio because we really wanted to like get in with the radio people and get to know them and be like visible there because I had never done that before. So me going there with "Dead" wasn't to really get it into the charts, even though that would have been nice. It wasn't the goal. This song we were like, let's really try to get it into at least like number 40 on the top 40 charts and
Yes. Right. Right.
It's the fact that it's 20 right now, 21. We're hoping it enters top 20, but
Girl, I promise you, it is definitely going to crack the top ten. I promise you.
I don't know about that. No.
No, deadass, the moment I heard it, I was like, there's a hit. There's a freakin' hit. I'm not even kidding. Like, "Dead" I loved, but I understood it was kind of like a nice like transition.
Really? Thank you. That was like the yes, exactly. I'm glad you noticed that. That was like the transition one and that was my like exit from old me to new me in my sound and stuff. So that's kinda why "Dead" was important.
So I heard you actually just finished Lollapalooza.
I did.
How was that?
Insane.
That was your first time ever performing at like a crazy huge festival.
Yeah. No, I've never done a festival before so I didn't know what to expect. I've been going to festivals like for the longest time. I love raging and like running around at festivals. Um, it's yeah, it's the best. So I've been to Lolla three times not being a performer and the fact that I was on one of the stages and on that lineup and on every t-shirt and every hoodie that people are wearing was just such a cool feeling and like I just people kept coming up to me and I would be at like the bigger stages watching like Post Malone and they're like, you're gonna be up there next year. And it would just make me feel so good and like I don't know, I just I hope that I would be up there. I don't think I'd be able to handle it though. If I was on like a main stage, I would probably just be crying the whole time.
Were you nervous though? Do you get nervous still?
Yes, I know. No, I get nervous when it's something like that because it's not all my crowd. It's kind of people being like, oh let's check her out see what she's about. Get away. But at my tour it's like all me. So um, I do get nervous. Yeah.
Now, New York Fashion Week is like right around the corner. I heard you're like going, right?
Yeah. I think I'm going. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I don't know what shows I'm going to yet but I'm going for sure.
Got it. Who are like some of your favorite designers?
Um, well, I definitely want to go to like a Louis Vuitton show to see Virgil's new collection cuz it's sick.
Yes. I'm all for it.
Yeah, and I saw he was at Lolla as well. He did a set. Um, who else? I mean like I want to go to Chanel, like all those shows are sick, so.
I'm all for it. Now, I know this is super random but I feel like I'm always like on my myriad and like crave like the weirdest things ever. Like, legit, I'll have like a rice cake with peanut butter and turkey.
I feel that.
Don't judge me.
I'm not judging you at all. Trust me, I've done weirder. Do you have like weird food combo that you're like obsessed with that people like Madison, really? What are you doing with that?
I mean I eat bananas and peanut butter but I think that's pretty normal.
That's kinda normal.
Um, I think. Something that I'm weird. What do I eat that's kinda weird? Uh, I put like bacon or sausage with syrup.
Girl, is that that's
My friends, my friend legit when I did it in front of him was like, that's the weirdest thing I've ever seen in my life. And I go, if you don't try this right now you're gonna regret it. And he was like, that's disgusting, that's disgusting. That's like putting salt on a salad. I was like, which also is
Who does that?
Probably good. It's like good. But I made him try it and he was like, wow. The first time I ever did that was at IHOP when I was a really, really, really little kid. I was a little,
No, it's it's a jam all day. All day every day 100%. Oh, you're the cutest thing. Congratulations again on everything. Next time I see you, I'm telling you, your new single is going to crack the top ten.
Thank you.
Said it here first. All right.
He called it.
