The Most Stunning Black and White Looks From The 2023 Met Gala!

The theme for the 2023 Met Gala was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, honoring the late designer for all of his immaculate work in the fashion industry. The Met Gala is renowned for its daring and bold fashion, and every year, we get amazing designs. So, in honor of Karl Lagerfeld, here are some celebrities who showed their love for him through his favorite, iconic color palette: black and white! 

 

1. Dua Lipa

Singer Dua Lipa, the co-chair of this year's Met Gala, wore an archival black and white Chanel gown. Her dress was a 1992 Haute Couture by Karl Lagerfeld tnat she paired with a gorgeous Tiffany & Co diamond.

 

2. Penelope Cruz

​​Actress Penelope Cruz, another co-chair for the Met Gala, wore a vintage Chanel Couture gown from 1988. Stunning!

 

3. La La Anthony

TV personality La La Anthony wore a white one-shoulder Sergio Hudson gown. Gold chains gracefully fell from one shoulder of the dress, completing the look perfectly. 

 

4. Giselle Bündchen

Supermodel Giselle glowed as she arrived at the Met Gala in an archival Chanel Gown accompanied by a gorgeous cape covered with feathers and Camelia flowers. The Camelia Flower is an iconic representation of Chanel!

 

5. Keke Palmer

Actress Keke Palmer looked stunning on the Met Gala’s carpet with a beautiful sparkling gown designed by Sergio Hudson.

 

6. Rita Ora 

Everyone is talking about singer Rita Ora’s nail jewelry. Dare we say, a new trend on the rise? Rita wore a gorgeous boudoir-style black gown designed by Prabal Gurung. 

 

7. Billie Eilish

Singer Billie Eilish wore a black sheer gown designed by Gucci for her appearance on the Met Gala carpet!

 

8. Halle Bailey

Wow. Halle Bailey did not come to play! The singer/actress looked absolutely stunning in a white gown designed by Gucci. She completed the look with a sparkling ruffled cape.

 

9. Doja Cat

Singer Doja Cat Met Gala look was an ode to Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat Choupette. Her stunning dress was designed by Oscar De La Renta and featured 350,000 sequins/crystals!

 

10. Jennie Kim

K-Pop star Jennie wore a beautiful vintage Chanel dress to which she added a pair of elbow-length, black gloves, and black heels. Thoughtful and stunning!

 

11. Anne Hathaway

Actress Anne Hathaway looked amazing in a custom gown made by Versace! Her dress was a form-fitting piece with cutouts from the chest leading al the way down to a slit!

 

12. Lily Collins

"Emily In Paris" star Lily Collins looked like a dream in Vera Wang featuring a bustier top, puffed sleeves, and a back tulle bottom. Her jewelry is by Cartier, making the perfect addition to her Met Gala look. 

 

13. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian arrived at the Met Gala carpet in a custom Schiaparelli dress made of pearls (50,000 freshwater pearls to be exact) with a white flowy cape.

 

 

14. Lizzo

Singer Lizzo wore vintage Chanel for her outfit for the night, dripping in pearls as she arrived on the Met Gala carpet.

 

15. Janelle Monáe

16. Cardi B

Rapper Cardi B wore a corseted ball gown complete with a tie and a rose-covered skirt. Her gorgeous dress was designed by Chenpeng Studio. 

 

17. Bad Bunny

Rapper Bad Bunny wore a crisp white suit with a surprise cut-out back and a rose cape. His designer was Jacquemus.

 

 

18. Yung Miami & Diddy

Rapper Yung Miami and hip-hop mogul Diddy arrived at the Met Gala together, both in incredibly stunning looks for the event. Yung Miami wore a remarkable gown designed by Marni Senofonte, while Diddy paid tribute wearing an all-black ensemble from his very own Sean John line!

 

 

19. Rihanna & A$AP Rocky

Of course, the gorgeous Rihanna made an apparence at the Met. She wore a custom white Maison Valentino gown which also included the iconic Camelia flower. Her boo A$AP Rocky wore Gucci, a look inspired by Karl Largefeld himself.
