Hey what's up guys? We are hanging out here with the wonderful and talented make-up artist, Patrick Ta. How's it going?
It's good. How are you?
It's great to meet you. 'Cause I was telling him earlier I have so many make-up questions and I'm so excited for you to be partnering up with Shiseido, which is such a great make-up brand.
I'm super excited about that, um, to be able to work with a brand that has such like innovative products. I want to show you guys like some of like my favorite products. Um, I love
Yeah, show us.
This is Aura Dew. So this is a this is a this is in the color Cosmic 3. So this is a multi dimensional highlighter that basically has a transparent base. So when you it can be put on like any skin tone and it's basically like diamonds in a little jar. You would put it right where you would normally put highlighter like right above. Basically, you would put it on like the flattest point of the cheekbone, on the cupid's bow, down the bridge of the nose. And you can also put it on your eyelids just as like as a little topper if you ever want that little extra.
That's beautiful. What else do we have here? What else do you like?
Um, so this is the Modern Matte Powder Lipstick. So this is the color that we use also on Jordan but this is um a matte lipstick but it has like a super like lightweight feel. It's super moisturizing. Um something something that's super special about it that is that it has a edge tip, so it actually you you you can use it as like a lip liner. So you don't need like a lip liner for it. You can actually trace your your lip line and fill it in.
And fill it in. That's perfect. I love that you say it's moisturizing too because there's so many matte lipsticks out there that make you feel so dried out.
Yeah. Yeah. So that's great.
Okay, what else? What do you have here?
Um and then the final product I love so this is the Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush. So this is a um this is a mousse like texture, so it is super lightweight and it's super airy, so you can actually just put it on to your skin and like a little bit goes a long way. So so once it's in like on your your skin like the color looks like it's coming from within. It actually looks like you are indeed blushing as opposed to that powdery look that I probably have right now.
Yeah. What is what is what is your like go-to like make-up look? I'm trying to do more natural. It used to be very over the top.
Yeah. I'm trying to make it seem like, "Oh, I just look like this." But you have beautiful skin and I feel like whenever I think I think natural is so beautiful just because when you can enhance just like your natural like beauty or just like maybe like popping on like a little color and like maybe like just focusing like more on like your lipstick or like just a little bit eyeshadow and keeping like your skin really fresh looks really like on trend.
What would be a few beauty tips that you could share just
Um, I think placement of things. So definitely like highlighter like you always want to put highlighter on the flattest point of your cheekbone and the highest point. Like I don't ever like to Yeah. I don't ever like to put it too close to the eyes because it can kind of like round your cheeks and then make them look even like a little bit fatter. I think another good tip is basically like if you want if if you're wearing color on your eyes and you are used to only using like a powder, try like putting like a base of like a of like a cream or a like a kajal ink um as as a base so whatever color you're doing and then put the color on top and then it's going to come out so much better in photos.
Why is that?
It just holds on to it better. It just gives it a better base, so like when flash hits your eyes, um it has basically it's not just going through the powder. It's going through the powder and it's hitting the like the cream and then so like the color is staying there.
Yeah. Who is somebody that you would love to do that you haven't done yet make-up for?
Um, I would love to do Beyoncé. Um, I also I just like I've been working with Rihanna for a little bit and I would love to continue to work with her. Um, I think like it's not always just like doing them once. Like I want to continue to work with these people. So Rihanna has been like is such a style icon of mine and she loves make-up, she loves fashion and um so just finding girls that love make-up as as much as I do like those are the girls that I want to work on.
Oh my gosh. Yes. How does it work? You come in and you kind of pick the make-up that you think is going to go well with the dress that they had picked out for the night and you kind of study their color and their facial you know features.
Yeah, it's always about um what they're wearing tonight, what the event is for, like is it in person, is it being like how how much is being photographed, like if they want to feel more like comfortable and natural in person or if they want to like this is for the photo. Um, it's all about like just the like the certain event and the outfit.
What's your favorite look that you've done? I know you did Gigi in that yellow dress that one year, right?
Yeah, that's still my favorite. I love I love I love that outfit so much but recently I just did her for the Harper's Bazaar Icons Party and I was I was obsessed with that look and I and I did that look in like 45 minutes um and I was still obsessed with it. I just I loved like I loved that it just looked so natural but her skin looked like glass to me.
Yeah. You have a beautiful canvas to work on there too. Okay, quick game before you go just a quick like you pick which is your favorite. Okay. Matt or gloss?
Matt. Yeah, that's still my favorite.
Oh, really? Okay, liquid liner or pencil?
Pencil.
Pale or spray tan?
Pale. Pale, yeah.
Um, false eyelash strip or extensions? That's a big one.
Strip. Yeah. Yeah. I don't like the extensions. One falls off and the whole look goes.
Okay. One more. Um red or nude lipstick?
No. Yeah. Oh, um I I would I would say red.
Red. I love red. Feisty. I love it.
