This past weekend, Netflix hosted its annual TUDUM event – named after its famous startup sound. At the event, Netflix announced and showcased its upcoming films and series slate, with many fan favorites getting first looks. Hosted by Netflix darling Sofia Carson, the event took place at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and hosted many stars and filmmakers and featured some epic performances! So, let’s take a look at everything that happened at TUDUM 2025!

Major Series Announcements

The time has come – the crew from "Stranger Things" is teaming up one last time for an epic finale. Season 5 is set in the Fall of 1987, a few months after the devastating events of Season 4, and follows the people of Hawkins as they reunite for a final battle against Vecna. Any questions we’ve had over the years about the Upside Down will finally be answered in this final installment of the series! The season will be released in 3 parts: Volume 1 on November 26, Volume 2 on December 25, and the Finale on December 31 of 2025. We'd say "mark your calendars", but all you have to do is remember "Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve"!

When Netflix released Tim Burton’s show "Wednesday", it instantly became a fan favorite, with Jenna Ortega gaining millions of followers on Instagram overnight. Now the hit series is back with a second season, and Lady Gaga is officially heading to Nevermore! The singer will play the part of Rosaline Rotwood, a renowned teacher at the Nevermore Academy who crosses paths with Wednesday Addams. The season will be released in 2 parts, with the first coming out on August 6 and the second half a month later on September 6.

In less than a month, "Squid Game"‘s third and final season will be released, and we couldn’t be more excited! It will follow the protagonist Gi-hun as he faces new deadly challenges and finally confronts the enigmatic Front Man! Actor Lee Jung-jae said he is happy with the series finale but at the same time very nervous for how fans will react. Now that sounds intriguing – we’ll be busy watching "Squid Game" on June 27!

Major Film Announcements

After long anticipation, Detective Benoit Blanc is back on a case in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The film is the third installment in the Knives Out franchise and brings back Daniel Craig as our murder mystery lead, where he will play a Southern detective. This time around, he will be joined by another all-star cast that includes Jeremy Renner, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, and Mila Kunis. The mystery unravels on December 12 on Netflix!

Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro is making his Netflix debut with the iconic monster adaptation Frankenstein. Known for his dark fantasy films like The Shape of Water, del Toro has put his signature twist on the infamous Frankenstein tale, making it a gothic science-fiction horror film starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Felix Kammerer and will most likely be THE movie of the Fall, with its release scheduled for November!

For anyone who is looking for some laughs, look no further because Netflix has announced the release for Happy Gilmore 2 for July 25! Yes, Adam Sandler’s classic '90s sports comedy is returning for a Round 2 and includes everything we loved about the original. Whether it’s the unhinged golf chaos, hilarious star cameos, or the original cast, it’s all there, plus some new comedy surprises! Happy Gilmore 2 definitely sounds like a lot of fun to us!

One of the most iconic Hollywood duos is returning to the screen. Of course, we are talking about Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who have been killing it on and off screen together since Good Will Hunting. This time, we will get to see them in their newest crime thriller The Rip. The film follows a team of Miami cops who are tempted into corruption when they discover millions of dollars in cash at a rundown stash house. We will get to see the drama play out at the beginning of next year!

Netflix Gaming

In addition to the series and film announcements, Netflix is also expanding its gaming section. The fan-favorite Squid Game: Unleashed is now getting an upgrade, meaning more challenges and more fun! As of Fall 2025, Netflix will also be the exclusive home for WWE 2K mobile games! But the fun doesn’t stop there. Netflix is also adding a bunch of interactive games to its gaming section Netflix Stories. These games will be based on its hit shows like "Outer Banks", "Love is Blind", and "Ginny & Georgia". Can't wait!

Star Performances

Lastly, we cannot forget to mention the iconic performances Lady Gaga and Hanumankind gave us this Saturday at Tudum! As always, Gaga left her audience stunned with her talent as she performed songs from her album Mayhem, including "Zombieboy" and "Abracadabra". Surely Lady Gaga is no easy act to follow, but the rapper and singer Hanumankind lived up to the challenge, only leaving the audience wanting more of his music!
