Sofia Vergara pulls out of Oscars to undergo operation - report

Sofia Vergara has pulled out of attending the Academy Awards on Sunday (24Feb13) to undergo surgery, according to a report.

The Modern Family beauty is said to be in hospital for an operation, according to Britain's Mail Online.

The Colombian actress was expected to walk the red carpet at the prestigious Hollywood ceremony and later appear at Madonna's afterparty.

A spokesperson for Vergara has not yet revealed the nature of the star's condition.
