Onerepublic frontman Ryan Tedder "panicked" when he heard a song from Madonna's upcoming album had leaked, because he thought it was one he wrote.
The singer regularly pens tracks for leading artists, including Beyonce and Leona Lewis, and is collaborating with Madonna on her 13th studio record, which Tedder believes contains "her best stuff in over a decade".
A new track, Rebel Heart, was leaked online last week (ends07Dec14), upsetting Madonna, who said she felt "violated as a human and an artist".
Tedder admits he was scared when he heard about the leak as he feared their top-secret material had been stolen, telling Britain's Daily Mirror, "I was actually working with Madonna when her tracks leaked... so I panicked because I thought it was the song I was working on, but luckily it wasn't... people have way too much time on their hands."
Madonna had collaborated with DJ Avicii on the leaked track.
