"Euphoria" Recap: Episode 6 – A Thousand Little Trees of Blood

Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday, and for the first time ever, there were two showdowns in one day! The Bengals vs. The Rams on NBC, and then Cassie vs. Maddy on HBO, and let me just say, my money was on Maddy. During last night’s episode of "Euphoria", “A Thousand Little Trees of Blood”, we finally got to see the aftermath of everything that happened in Episode 5, and the wait was well worth it. Here are all the highlights from episode 6!

1. Apologies

In the last episode, we saw Rue (Zendaya) hit rock bottom, and it was truly heartbreaking. But in this episode, we see her clean and wanting to make a change. She expresses in her voiceover how she wishes she could take back what she said to her mom. She also calls up Ali (Colman Domingo) and apologizes for what she said to him a few episodes back. He accepts her apology and comes over to cook her family dinner.

2. Marsha Trying To Bond With Nate

While we see the aftermath of Rue’s behavior, we also get to see the aftermath of Cal’s (Eric Dane) behavior. Marsha (Paula Marshall) is so thrilled that Cal has left and celebrates with wine in the morning, not even worried about his pee that is still on the floor. Gross. But we do get a glimpse into what Marsha and Nate’s relationship is like -- Marsha tries talking to him about where they went wrong and why he is such an angry guy, but it only makes him angrier.

3. Suze Saying It How It Is

Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) is in absolute hysterics (again) this episode, trying to convince everyone that she has done nothing wrong. She tries pleading her case by saying Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) weren’t together, therefore she is innocent and shouldn’t be getting blamed for everything. But Suze (Alanna Ubach) is not buying her story, or her hysterics. She tells her what she did was wrong, and that she needs an exorcism, which had us loling.

4. Movie Night

This is what we’ve been waiting for! We finally got more Lexi (Maude Apatow) and Fez (Angus Cloud) content, and it was truly worth the wait! Lexi went over to Fez's to confide in him about Cassie and her upcoming play, but she ended up staying for a movie. At the end of the movie, the two find themselves holding hands, and it was the best moment of the whole episode. Let’s hope we get more content next week!

6. Maddy and Samantha

Maddy is babysitting Theo once again, but when his mom Samantha (Minka Kelly) comes home, she invites Maddy to stay for a swim. The two share a bottle of wine, and that’s when Maddy starts to divulge all her drama to Samantha about Cassie and Nate. Samantha  then shares thshe did the same thing to her best friend in college and Maddy is shocked. But the conversation definitely gave us -- and Maddy -- a better understanding of how Cassie might be feeling.

While the episode answered many questions we had from Episode 5, it still left us with so many new questions that we can’t wait to be answered in the next episode! How will Lexi’s play go over? What will Nate and Cassie do when they see Maddy at school? And how will Rue’s journey go?

"Euphoria" is now streaming on HBO Max, with new episodes airing every Sunday night on HBO!
