Best Looks From the 26th Critics Choice Awards!

Written by Melanie Haid. Published: March 08 2021

The Critics Choice Awards have been going for 26 years strong, and despite changing guidelines for the pandemic and large gatherings still on hold even a year later, Awards Season has not stopped but rather just become a bit more virtual. This year, guests and nominees got all dolled up from the comfort of their own homes to honor winners in categories such as Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Costume Design, Best Score – if it’s film/TV-related, you’ll find it here. Even from home, everyone was donned in designer and looking incredible; win or lose, these looks are all noteworthy!

1. Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy, "The Queen’s Gambit" actress who followed up her Golden Globes win by taking home Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie, was wearing this stunning berry-colored Dior Haute Couture tulle ballgown that gave us major fairytale vibes. She did her own make-up for the event, with Dior beauty products of course, and wore Bulgari jewelry to accent the look.

2. Zendaya

Zendaya is and always will be a show-stopper, whether it be on-screen or in her stunning fashion choices. For this year’s CCAs, she wore a dramatic orange Valentino gown that billowed out around the beautiful 24-year-old star. She was also the 5th-ever recipient of the SeeHer Award last night for her work across her career, an award given to honor women who represent the SeeHer Movement, advocating for accurate portrayals of women in media.

3. Emma Corrin

You may recognize this newcomer from her stand-out performance in the 4th season of Netflix’s "The Crown", and just like the woman she portrays, Emma Corrin is quickly becoming a fashion icon in her own right! Last night, she also dazzled us with this edgy, original dress by Schiaparelli. Her performance as Princess Diana also won her Best Actress in a Drama Series, and the 25-year-old actress really did play an amazing Diana! Well deserved.

4. H.E.R

Singer-songwriter H.E.R. did not come to play (or, stay at home to play) this year with this stunning Miu Miu suit. Everything she donned matched the blue-and-silver display of detail on her suit, and she posted on Instagram that she also accessorized the look with Chopard diamonds. Such a dazzling look!

5. Viola Davis

Viola Davis, an absolute acting force of nature throughout all that she does, was pictured at home wearing this beautiful aqua Greta Constantine dress. With ruffled sleeves, collar, and pocket detailing, Davis, a nominee for Best Actress for her role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, looks absolutely stunning, especially on the red pop-of-color circle that she took photos on. Not to mention these large silver earrings – it’s all in the details!

Even when award shows are happening from home, guests of the Critics Choice Awards are not taking a day off in terms of glamour. From expensive, shimmering details to elevated simplicity to breathtaking works of art, guests and nominees showed up (at home) and decided that, win or lose, award show glamour is never out of style.
