ARTIST TO WATCH: Ari Lennox

She’s sexy, she’s soulful, and her vocals are out of this world. Shea Butter Baby artist Ari Lennox is a whole vibe. She is super talented and is definitely a female the music industry should look out for. There is so much to love about this woman!

Ari Lennox, whose real name is Courtney Shanade Salter, is one dope lady. She signed to Dreamville Records, J. Cole’s record label, in 2015. Not only is It a big deal to impress head honcho Jermaine Cole, but she is also the first and only female Cole has signed so far.

This doesn’t surprise me, though. Have you heard this woman sing? Her vocals are not only beautiful on her records, the woman can SANG and I mean live as well. Listen for yourself and thank me later.

Ari’s most successful song to date, “Shea Butter Baby”, is definitely a jam. Ari seduces you with her lyrics and get’s you vibin’ with her jazz beats. The song features J. Cole and I don’t even think that needs any explanation. The two collab together so effortlessly. The beginning strum of the guitar already had me.

Ohhhhhh, and the video!!! Sheesh. This woman is just so damn beautiful and her soul is so authentic. The music video proved successful as it racked over 3 million views the first week it debut on YouTube.

“Shea Butter Baby” was obviously a track on Lennox’s first studio album, Shea Butter Baby, which was released on May 7, 2019. Boyyyy, if you thought the single was a dope song, you NEED to hear this entire album. It will get you vibin’ all week long. Listen to it on Monday and I promise you, it will help you cruise right through to Friday. The album showed success and peaked on Billboard’s Top 200 at number 67. The one and only J. Cole also took to twitter to show some praise.
