My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Andrea Martin has signed on to play Ariana Grande's mum in the upcoming Hairspray Live! TV event.
The thespian, who played a meddling aunt in Nia Vardalos' two Greek family comedies, has been cast as Prudy Pingleton in the star-studded TV musical, which will also feature Harvey Fierstein, Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth, Martin Short, Derek Hough, Rosie O'Donnell, and newcomer Maddie Baillio.
Martin's fussy character was portrayed by Joann Havrilla in the original 1988 film, and Allison Janney tackled the role in the 2007 remake.
Hairspray Live! will air on TV in America on 7 December (16).
