And They Were Roommates! Celebrities Who Used To Bunk Together!

Written by Meredith Reilly. Published: March 06 2022

Roommates -- sometimes you hate them, and sometimes you love them. Finding who to live with can be a daunting task, when you consider daily habits. Will you fight over the air fryer? Do you have similar schedules? Etc. But in Hollywood, it seems like finding a bunk buddy with similar interests can be quite easy. Here are 6 celebrity pairings who you might not have known used to be roommates!

1. James Corden and Dominic Cooper

You may know James Corden from "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and Dominic Cooper from Mamma Mia!. But did you know that, once upon a time, they were just two roommates trying to make it big? On his show, James reminisced with Dominic about their days of living together.

2. Andrew Garfield, Jamie Dornan, Eddie Redmayne, Tom Sturridge, and Robert Pattinson

Wow! What a squad! Half of these men were roommates, and the other half neighbors, all with each other! But by being roommates and neighbors, they spent a lot of time together at the beginning of their careers. On "The Late Late Show with James Corden" Andrew Garfield and Jamie Dornan shared what those early days were like. Garfield said they would all go to the Standard Hotel and order one cocktail and share it because it was all they could afford. Then Dornan added that they would also order one burger and all have a bite each, because if they didn't order food they would get kicked out.

3. Nina Dobrev and Sara Canning

At the start of "The Vampire Diaries", Nina Dobrev (Elena) and Sara Canning (Jenna) were roommates. Sara toldTeen Vogue that they became like family, and that they both had their own bathrooms. Nina has also discussed their time as roommates on the "Directionally Challenged" podcast hosted by Candice King and Kayla Ewell, who are also "TVD" alums!

4. Ed Westick and Chace Crawford

These two "Gossip Girl" alums played best friends and roommates on the show, so it’s crazy to learn they were roommates in real life too. Recently, Chace Crawford went on the podcast "XOXO" with Jessica Szohr, who played Vanessa on the hit show, and discussed what it was like living with Ed Westick. The two had lots of fun and even had a roof deck that the cast would come over and hangout on! But it doesn’t stop there -- their neighbor was Alex Pall from The Chainsmokers, and he would DJ for them!

5. Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart

Madelaine Petsch and Lili Reinhart met in the airport before filming "Riverdale", believe it or not, and then became roommates! The duo is still super close, along with their other co-star Camila Mendes; the three of them even have a shared TikTok account!

6. Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder

When Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder got cast on "The Vampire Diaries" as brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore, they went looking for apartments together. Paul told Candice King and Kayla Ewell on the "Directionally Challenged" podcast that, while they didn’t actually live together, they got apartments next to each other so it would be easier to run lines together. The duo are still tight and even launched a bourbon brand called Brothers Bond Bourbon, inspired by their "TVD" characters!
