After a long day, there is nothing better than turning on a lighthearted comedy and switching your brain off for 30-ish minutes. But if that's your habit, chances are you've already gone through every popular option out there. You’ve seen "Friends" twice, you just finished "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", and you’re running out of ideas of what show to watch next. The shows below are great options if you’re looking for something funny and easy to follow!

1. "A Man on the Inside"

When his daughter tells retired professor Charles (Ted Danson) to find a new hobby, she did not anticipate that he would become the undercover assistant to a private investigator. He is put into a nursing home to discover the mystery behind disappearing items. With most characters above the age of 60, the show hilariously portrays the drama that goes on inside a nursing home. (Stream on Netflix)

2. "Cunk on Earth"

This mockumentary follows the fictional journalist Philomena Cunk (played by Diane Morgan) as she attempts to cover the entire history of humanity. Most of the comedy lives in Morgan’s acting, when she says the most unbelievable statements with a perfectly straight face. The interviews, where Cunk asks real experts ridiculous questions and we watch them try to politely respond, are guaranteed to bring some laughter out of you. (Stream on Netflix)

3. "Loot"

After a messy and public divorce, Molly (Maya Rudolph) must figure out what to do with her life. She also needs to figure out what to do with the $87 billion settlement she earned. She decides to donate all of her money to charity but finds that it isn’t so easy when you’re a billionaire whose money continuously grows. The show leans into absurdity and lightheartedly criticizes the current state of the world. (Stream on Apple TV+)

4. "Nobody’s Looking"

After 300 years of no fresh faces in the Angelus System, Ulisses (Victor Lamoglia), is the new guardian angel. However, his curiosity and rebellious nature shows he might shake up the centuries old rules of the system. The show was unfortunately canceled after a single season due to not attracting enough viewers, but it is quite an enjoyable hidden gem. While this is a Brazilian show, the humor remains alive even after translation. (Stream on Netflix)

5. "Pen15"

Maya (Maya Erskine) and Anna (Anna Konkle) are two 13-year-old best friends navigating the horrors of middle school in the year 2000. There’s just one detail: both of them are played by adult actresses. It sounds strange, but that’s where most of its humor lies. This show is often described as a cringe comedy, and underneath its humor, it successfully depicts what it feels like to be an awkward pre-teen. (Stream on Hulu)
