5 "RuPaul’s Drag Race" Stars Who Have Made Their Broadway Debuts!

Written by Nicole Minar. Published: January 21 2026

You’ve seen these queens hit the runway, but have you seen them light up a Broadway stage? For over 15 years, "RuPaul’s Drag Race" has introduced the world to all kinds of drag superstars, many of whom are true triple threats! Along with consistently serving Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent, the queens on this list don’t have to lip sync for their lives because they can sing it live! Here are 5 former "RuPaul’s Drag Race" stars who have taken Broadway bows!

1. Jinkx Monsoon

In 2022, Jinkx Monsoon was crowned Queen of All Queens for winning both Season 5 of "RuPaul’s Drag Race" and season 7 of "RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars", but the excitement didn’t end there! Shortly after her "All Stars" win, Jinkx took her first Broadway bow as Chicago’s Matron "Mama" Morton in 2023. She’s since continued her Broadway career, going on to play Ruth in Pirates! The Penzance Musical and Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! in 2025. In fact, she was so beloved in the role of Mary Todd Lincoln that she’ll be reprising the role, wearing the bratty curls again now through February 1!

2. Peppermint

Peppermint made "Drag Race" herstory in 2017 by being the first openly transgender woman to compete on the show, making it all the way to the Season 9 finals! She went on to take her first Broadway bow in 2018 as Pythio in Head Over Heels, making even more herstory as the first openly trans woman to originate a leading role in a Broadway show. Although she has not yet returned to Broadway, her talent has not gone unnoticed! She’s since released multiple EPs, her most recent being Moment of Weakness: Letters to My Lovers in 2022, and made guest appearances on many shows, such as FX’s "Pose" in 2019 and Apple TV’s "Schmigadoon!" in 2021, both of which feature casts that are loaded with Broadway legends.

3. Bob the Drag Queen

Bob the Drag Queen has had quite an impressive career following his Season 8 win of “Drag Race" in 2016! He’s done everything from hosting the podcast "Sibling Rivalry" with fellow “Drag Race" alum "All Stars" Season 4 winner Monét X Change, to competing in Season 3 of Peacock’s "The Traitors" in 2025, and even serving as the opening act and Master of Ceremonies for Madonna’s Celebration Tour from 2023-24! He will add yet another impressive achievement to his resume when he makes his Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge!, where he will play Harold Zilder from January 27 through March 22! He will star alongside Disney’s ZOMBIES star Meg Donnelly, who is also making her Broadway debut as Satine through March 1! We have one thing to say… he better werk!

4. Marcia Marcia Marcia

Under the name Marty Lauter, Marcia Marcia Marcia actually made their Broadway debut before appearing on "RuPaul’s Drag Race", serving as a vacation swing for Kinky Boots in 2018. They returned to the Broadway stage shortly after competing on Season 15, stepping into the cast of Cabaret as Victor, a Kit Kat Club dancer, and the Emcee understudy in 2024. They even got to serve as the replacement Emcee towards the end of the show’s run!

5. Milan

Like Marcia Marcia Marcia, Milan also made her Broadway debut before competing on "RuPaul’s Drag Race", performing in the ensemble of Hairspray in 2007 under the name Dwayne Cooper. After competing on Season 4 of “Drag Race" in 2012, Cooper returned to Broadway in the ensemble of Motown The Musical in 2014 and hasn’t sashayed away! He has since performed as a swing in the 2023 revival of Sweeney Todd and also performed in the ensemble and served as the Ed Bishop understudy in 2025’s Floyd Collins!
