Clear your Wednesday night schedules because A24’s new comedy-drama series will have you pressing play the second a new episode drops. Based on Rufi Thorpe’s book Margo’s Got Money Troubles, the story follows Margo, a 20-year-old college student who got pregnant after an affair with her Literature professor. The series is chaotic, funny, and surprisingly emotional. With the same creator as "Big Little Lies", and directors who have worked on "Sex Education", "Loki", and "The Handmaid’s Tale", this new show is guaranteed to be a success. Four of the eight episodes have come out so far, and we’re anxiously waiting to see what’s next for Margo -- here are 5 reasons that you should be too!

1. The Star-Studded Cast

Oscar nominee Elle Fanning plays the lead role of Margo, delivering a genuine and raw performance that really enriches her character. Fellow Oscar nominee and acting legend Michelle Pfeiffer plays Margo’s stunning mother, who struggles to see her daughter in the same seat as she was when she became a young single mother. Emmy winner Nick Offerman plays Margo’s ex-pro wrestler father, and iconic Oscar winner Nicole Kidman stars as his old friend from his wrestling days.

2. The Way It Pulls You In

The dialogue feels so natural, you'll forget you're watching a scripted show. The way the characters interact feels real and will make you want to see more and more of them together. Then come the cliffhangers. Some of us love them, some of us hate them, but we can all agree they succeed in making us hungry to know more~ Episodes often end at the exact moment something significant happens, leaving you staring at the credits, looking forward to next week.

3. Touching Upon Many Real-Life Struggles

This show doesn't shy away from the hard stuff. Financial struggles, drug addiction, complicated family relationships, fame, and motherhood are all themes that are carefully explored in this show. These themes are portrayed through the show’s main characters with honesty and little judgment. The show shies away from judging Margo for her choice or defining her by her newfound career. The characters are well-developed and understood, which can help anyone who relates to them feel seen.

4. Balancing Humor and Stress

If you cope with humor, then this show is for you. One minute you’re laughing at a funny line, then the next your chest is tight as you watch a character go through something anxiety-inducing. The series knows when to use humor and when to be serious, making this a light but meaningful watch.

5. The Reviews

If I haven't convinced you yet, maybe the rest of the internet can. The show has an impressive 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.8 out of 5 stars on TV Time as of this writing. The buzz since its premiere has only gotten louder. New episodes drop every Wednesday on Apple TV+ through May 20, so get started now before you're behind!
