If you thought Percy Jackson had it tough last season — taking on foes like Medusa, the Hydra, and even Ares, the God of War — just wait till you see what kind of challenges the young demi-god is forced to face this time around! The monsters, fights, and predicaments will be bigger, better, and even more epic. The first episode of Season 2 is set to premiere on December 10, and fans are hyped to see how the Percy Jackson saga continues to unfold on screen. Let’s check out why watchers are so excited for the upcoming season and what we can expect!
1. Tyson
After the finale of "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" Season 1 was released back in December 2023, it was announced that the series would be renewed for a second season. On November 6 on this year, Disney dropped the official trailer for "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" Season 2, revealing new additions to the cast including some of the most beloved characters from the book, one of which is Percy’s half-brother and cyclops, Tyson. Tyson (played by Canadian actor Daniel Diemer) is an integral character in Season 2, and fans are eager to see his brotherly dynamic with Percy come to life on-screen.
2. Thalia Grace
This season will introduce one of the series’ central characters: the one and only Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, played by Tamara Smart. Long believed dead after sacrificing herself to save her friends, Thalia makes a shocking return — one that book fans have been eagerly anticipating.
3. World-building
Cyclopses, sirens, giants, and even guinea pigs are just a few of the obstacles that Percy and his friends will have to face this season. The tight-knit group of demi-gods is thrust into a world far bigger — and far more frightening — than Percy ever imagined. As they venture into the Sea of Monsters, known to mortals as the Bermuda Triangle, they encounter new allies and potential enemies along the way, one of which is the Goddess of Magic, Circe, played by Rosemarie DeWitt.
4. "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" Season 3
Perhaps the most exciting news of all came earlier this year at San Diego Comic Con: Season 3 of "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" has officially been confirmed and is already in production! The announcement also revealed the actors playing Hades’ children, Bianca and Nico Di Angelo, two fan favorites. Season 3 will adapt the third book, The Titan’s Curse, so we can expect Season 2 will set that up. Although there is no confirmation as to when Season 3 will premiere, it has been speculated to release late-2026.
