Top 5 Moments From "Outer Banks" Season 2!

Everyone became obsessed with "Outer Banks" at the beginning of the pandemic, and a little over a year later we now have Season 2 in our hands (thank goodness)! If you thought the drama was big in Season 1, then you won’t believe this season. We are obsessed with all things Pogues vs. Kooks, and now,= we are recapping some of the very best moments (the good, the bad, and the ugly) from the latest season. If you haven’t watched yet, do yourself a favor and race to your preferred streaming device and immerse yourself in the OBX goodness!
[*WARNING: Major Spoilers Ahead!]
1. The Epic Reunion
Okay, I figured we had to start on a lighthearted note since this season is filled with drama. One of my favorite moments from the entire season was seeing all the Pogues reunite in Charleston. Can we just take a moment to admire how cute the entire gang is when they realize they have just stumbled upon one another?! With all of the chaos of Sarah and John B. being gone (and presumed dead, by the way), it felt so nice to see the Pogues have a win.
2. Pope & The Cross
I would like to personally thank the writers of OBX for giving Pope his own intense plotline this season. We really get to see all of the characters in a different light, but Pope’s character arc takes the cake for me. As he slowly starts to realize his relation to Denmark Tanny, his confidence grows larger than life as he realizes that he and his friends truly deserve to win. When he found Denmark’s cross in the church, I most definitely shed a small tear for his victory.
3. Chill Out, Rafe
Okay, let’s discuss Rafe Cameron, shall we? We definitely got to see a sliver of his dark side in the first season, particularly in the finale. However, I don’t think anyone could’ve prepared me for his evil ways this season. He has become completely unhinged in Season 2, and even though we despise him (literally why did you try to drown Sarah??), we can’t help but admire the performance by Drew Starkey. He has really brought new life into this character... even if it is completely deranged.
4. You Can’t Get Rid of Ward Cameron
This moment is really an amalgamation of many little moments throughout the season, but stay with me! Immediately Ward is back to his slimy ways with a new murder under his belt, but then he does the unthinkable -- He bares it all in a recorded confession and blows up the Druthers with himself on board. The scene is incredibly painful to watch, especially with Sarah present for it all. But just when it feels like we get some closure from the craziness of Season 1, in walks Ward Cameron back from the dead. I mean, did we really expect anything less? Turns out Ward set the whole thing up as a way to clear Rafe’s name and escape the island. That scuba that they mention is on board the Druthers in Season 1? That’s the answer to his seamless escape. To say I was enraged when Ward came back is an understatement, but at the same time, the man just can’t seem to leave the drama behind.
5. John B’s Not-So-Revenge
After it’s revealed that Ward Cameron is in fact alive and onboard the Coastal Venture with the rest of the Cameron clan and the rogue Pogues, he is back to his old ways pretty quickly. Trying to force Sarah to re-join the family shenanigans, things get heated rather quickly. When John B. finds Ward and Sarah in the middle of a physical fight (what kind of dad chokes their daughter??), he begins to fight Ward himself. There is a brief moment when John B. has the chance to kill Ward just as Ward killed Big John Rutledge. We can see him think it through, and he even gets confirmation from Sarah that it’s okay. But in the end, he lets go of Ward and takes off, being the bigger and better person. It’s a very interesting moment of insight into John B.’s psyche, and a significant moment of growth.
