Best friends Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez had a hard time containing their emotions as they discovered the Love Story singer was an early double Grammy Awards winner on Monday afternoon (15Feb16).
The girls were getting ready for the big show when they learned Bad Blood - the promo which featured both of them - had picked up the Best Music Video prize at the pre-telecast ceremony.
Swift had already won the Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989 and was positively giddy about her second win, posting a brief video from backstage at the Staples Center on Instagram.
In the short film, Swift, who was preparing to open the show, said "What just happened?" and "Oh my God" repeatedly as she buried her head in her hands, while pal Gomez just giggled and jumped up and down with glee.
Taylor tweeted, "Bad Blood just won a Grammy for Best Music Video and we are not ok," while Selena added, "I got to be in my best friends first Grammy award winning music video!!!!!!?!"
Swift was too busy getting ready for her red caret moment to attend the early awards show and sent fun. star Jack Antonoff to pick up her Best Pop Vocal Album award.
He called her from the stage and asked her what to say and Taylor screamed, "Is James Taylor there? Can someone tell James Taylor I love him?"
The pop star beat the veteran in the category.
Antonoff, who is Lena Dunham's boyfriend, then joined Taylor for her opening Grammys number, a high-energy rendition of her single Out of the Woods.
Jason Isbell, The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, Little Big Town, Skrillex & Diplo and D'Angelo were also multiple winners before the big show began, while Kendrick Lamar was already a triple winner as stars began arriving at the Staples Center for Grammy night. He picked up Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for Alright, while his These Walls collaboration with Bilal, Anna Wise, & Thundercat was named Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
Kendrick added a fourth prize to his haul during the telecast, picking up the Best Rap Album honor for To Pimp a Butterfly.
