Our 5 Favorite Performances From Week 4 of Netflix’s "Star Search" Revival!

It’s the final countdown, as Week 4 marks the final week of "Star Search" before next week’s grand finale! There, all 8 of this week’s winners will compete against one another to see who will be voted the ultimate "Star Search" champion. However, the judges will not be voting for the winner. In a unique twist, 100% of the votes will be coming from the viewers at home! The performers truly brought their all this week, meaning we had to say goodbye to some familiar favorites while welcoming several new ones. Here are our 5 favorite performances from Week 4!
1. Madison Lauren
11-year-old Madison Lauren received a standing ovation from all three judges for her performance of The Greatest Showman’s "A Million Dreams". The singer showed off her insane range, hitting high notes with ease. Her impressive performance earned her 5 stars across the board from the judges and a total of 4.68 stars, tying her with magician TJ Salta for the competition’s highest score so far!
2. Movement 55
Movement 55 went absolutely feral with their amazing dance to Lady Gaga’s "Bad Romance". They were the fiercest they’ve ever been, making it clear why they’ve remained undefeated in their category. Even with the challenges they faced, having to reblock the number due to being down a dancer at the last minute, they were as sharp and precise as ever, showcasing their true professionalism and star power.
3. Spud Howard
Steven "Spud" Howard brought everyone to church with his gospel rendition of "Help!" by The Beatles. (If you’re wondering where his unique nickname comes from, he said it’s because his mom ate a lot of baked potatoes while pregnant with him.) His performance, which included a gospel choir under his soulful, growling vocals, received an impressive 5 stars from every judge!
4. K-STAR
K-STAR performed a jaw-dropping routine to Woodkid’s "Run Boy Run". The acro troupe, which consists of performers aged 11-15, uniquely combines contortion, martial arts, and acrobatics. Founded by former Cirque Du Soleil artists Philip Sahagun and Ulziibayar Chimed-Sahagun, the talented group performed many impressive tricks that showcased both their strength and flexibility. Although they ended up losing their category by just half a star, we know that people will be bending over backwards to see them perform again soon.
5. TJ Salta
TJ Salta really brought "variety" to the Variety Category this week. The magician and mentalist began by showing off his piano skills, something he hadn’t previously done on the "Star Search" stage. He correctly played the song on Sarah Michelle Gellar’s card, as well as a song Chrissy Teigen came up with off the top of her head, without seeing either of them. If that doesn’t sound “magical" enough for you, for his final trick, he seemingly teleported from the stage to behind the judges in the blink of an eye. The undefeated champion almost received 5 stars from every judge for his performance, but Jelly Roll said he was shaking so much from the act’s surprise ending that his finger accidentally hit 4.
To cast your vote for the “Star Search" champion, be sure to tune into the show’s finale, streaming live on Netflix on February 17 at 9pm ET/6pm PT!
