Another week means another 2 episodes of "Star Search"! This week, the show was visited by two "Star Search" alumni: the Backstreet BoysAJ McLean, who appeared with the band during the show’s original run in 1993, and "Roastmaster General" Jeff Ross, whose 1992 appearance marked his first time on TV! This week also marked the introduction of 8 new competitors who went head-to-head against last week’s winners. Here’s a breakdown of our 5 favorite performances from Week 2!

1. Yair Keydar

12-year-old Yair Keydar’s beautiful performance of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" earned him the competition’s highest score yet, with a total of 4.64 stars! Having made his off-Broadway debut as Brendan Hutchinson in Drag: The Musical at just 11 years old, it’s no surprise that Keydar had such star power. His version of the Judy Garland classic received an impressive 5 stars from every judge and even made Chrissy Teigen cry!

2. Movement 55

This week marked Movement 55’s second win in the Dance category! The name comes from the group’s creator and choreographer, Sophia Lucia, who broke the Guinness World Record for completing 55 consecutive pirouettes at just 10 years old. Their routine to Son Lux and Hanna Benn’s "You Don’t Know Me" perfectly combined their sharp precision with fierce emotion, making it a very exciting number to watch!

3. Honky Tonk Chicks

Hold on to your cowboy hats, because this country group will blow you away! The trio, which consists of Bailey Purvis, Becca Andrews, and Kate Gulotta, had an electric performance of Lainey Wilson’s "Hang Tight Honey". Their matching outfits, theatrical backgrounds, and energetic choreo created one of the show’s most fun performances so far. Unfortunately, they ended up being just 0.04 stars shy of winning their category, but hang tight honey, because with all the energy they brought to the stage, we’re sure it won’t be long before we see them shining again!

@honkytonkchicks Our performance of “Hang Tight Honey” by @Lainey Wilson on @Netflix Star Search ⭐️? We left it all on the floor and are incredibly proud of this performance! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us. Thank you for all the love! @Bailey Purvis @kategulotta @Becca Andrews ♬ original sound - Honky Tonk Chicks

4. MIV

This dynamic duo, which consists of Vietnamese performers Matt Nguyen and Killusion, really brought some variety to the show’s Variety acts! MIV, or “Made in Vietnam", uniquely combines hip-hop dancing with lasers. The self-proclaimed "Laser Assassins" performed an exciting routine to Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles" that was not only cool on a technical level but also told an engaging story. Although the duo ultimately lost to magician TJ Salta by just 0.36 stars, we’d walk a thousand miles just to see them perform again tonight!

5. Sophie Saylor

The 18-year-old’s emotional performance of "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish was easily the standout performance from the Wednesday night show. She had some tough competition going up against Bear Bailey, who earned the highest score of the competition last week. However, her powerful belt, impressively low notes, and touching vulnerability brought her to the top. Her performance even answered the song’s question, making it clear to everyone watching that she was made to be onstage!
