One Directon: This is Us, directed by Morgan Spurlock, grossed $17 million its opening weekend (30Aug13-01Sep13), narrowly beating Lee Daniels' The Butler into second place with $14.7 million in ticket sales in its third week of release.
Jennifer Aniston's drug comedy We're the Millers rounds out the new top three.
The box office figures do not include projected sales for the Labor Day holiday on Monday (02Sep13).
