Lady Gaga is on course to make Billboard chart history - her new release Born This Way is set to score the highest opening sales figures in a decade.
The Paparazzi hitmaker, who released the disc last week (23May11), is projected to sell more than one million copies of the project and steal the number one spot on the Billboard 200 from soul star Adele when official numbers are released on Wednesday (01Jun11).
Gaga will need to top 1.88 million units to set a new record and topple 'N Sync's 2001 release Celebrity.
The pop superstar will also become the latest artist to break through the one million units sold barrier; Taylor Swift was the last artist to achieve that feat in November (10) when Speak Now debuted with 1,047,000 sales.
